legends of tomorrow kuasa

Legends of Tomorrow ended with quite a surprising debut - and we're here to help you break it down.

Spoilers for tonight's episode of Legends of Tomorrow, 'Freakshow', below.

At the end of the episode, a hooded woman was shown conjuring a figure out of a pond. That figure ended up being Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor) - a character who will have a big part to play in this season.

So, who exactly is Kuasa? Well, unlike most of the other new additions to The CW shows, Kuasa doesn't actually originate from DC Comics lore. But she does have one pretty substantial past appearance under her belt - one that is sure to further complicate this season's events.

Vixen

Kuasa is the sister of Mari McCabe/Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), both of whom made their Arrowverse debut in the Vixen animated series. Kuasa was introduced in Vixen's first season, and served as a foil to her sister.

Kuasa initially served as the guardian of Vixen's Anansi Totem, before her mother took the totem while escaping with Mari to America. Decades later, Kuasa hunted down her sister, in search of getting back her totem.

As the season progressed, Kuasa went to great lengths to steal the totem, eventually telling Mari about her past in the process. At one point, Kuasa got the totem, before Mari poisoned her sister and ended up getting it back.

Kuasa returned in the second season, instructing Mari with help finding the Water totem. The sisters united, before Kuasa tried to steal the totem for herself. She was quickly apprehended by Black Canary and The Atom, and the three heroes convinced Kuasa to join their fight. Kuasa did, but ended up dying in the process.
