Gregory did something mean to Jessica Devnani and Daymara Sanchez, which led Gregory to kill Jessica’s fiance.
The 2018 murder of Patrick De La Cerda, who was from Deltona, is the focus of the latest episode of 48 Hours, a true crime documentary on CBS. Patrick was killed at his house by Gregory Bender, who used to date Patrick’s fiancee, Jessica Devnani.
After Patrick died on February 27, 2018, Jessica told the police that she thought Bender might have killed him.

Since her fiance died, Jessica has been in a lot of pain. When Gregory let his good side get the best of him, he did a terrible thing that caused him to kill Jessica’s fiance.
Devnani still wears the ring that her fiance gave her as an engagement gift. She said that the scene when she found her fiance shot and lying on the ground was very terrible.
Gregory’s ex-girlfriend, Daymara, told the police that Gregory was involved in the death of Patrick De La Cerda. Daymara was a hero in this case because she helped catch Gregory.
Jessica is still very sad about the death of her fiance, though. She feels like she lost her life and happiness too soon.
Why did Patrick De La Cerda get hurt?
CBS News says that Jessica Devnani and Patrick De La Cerdia met for the first time on the dating site Plenty Fish in June of 2017. He asked her to marry him in December 2017, and she happily said yes.
Patrick bought her a unique band, even though he had only used a temporary ring when he asked her to marry him. He was looking forward to getting the ring at his home in Deltona, Florida.
On February 27, 2018, Patrick’s house was where he was killed. When she didn’t hear from him in the morning, she rushed to his house, where she found out he had died.
Jessica told the police about Gregory Bender, her ex-boyfriend who she broke up with when she found out he was married to Daymara Sanchez and was jealous of her.
Even though Devnani’s statement helped the police suspect Bender, they were unable to find any solid evidence that linked him to the murder.
What did Jessica have to do with Daymara Sanchez?
Devnani is 20 years younger than Bender. She met him online for the first time in 2009. Before Bender’s secret came out at a hospital where Devnani met Sanchez and was told she was his wife, the two had been dating for eight years.
After Jessica started dating Patrick, it seems like Bender started sending her threatening messages. The police were shown these messages, but it wasn’t enough for them to arrest Gregory.
When Daymara, Bender’s ex-wife, heard a news story about the murder of Patrick De La Cerda and thought he might have been involved, she told them something very important.
Sanchez told the police that she had found notes in her ex-notebook husband’s that described a plan to kill someone. Even though she said he didn’t believe the letters because they were just “fantasy,” CBS News found them in a trash can along with shot shells that matched those found at the crime scene.
After Bender was taken into custody, he was charged with first-degree murder. Later, he was found guilty of killing Patrick De La Cerda and put in prison for life without the chance of getting out.
