Anadalay Gomez Obituary – Car Accident: In loving memory of recent Hooker High School graduate killed in Monday evening crash in Beaver County.
On the evening of July 31, 2023, recent Hooker High School graduate, Anadalay Gomez, died in a tragic car accident in Beaver County.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, a report states that on Monday at approximately 5:10 p.m., a driver identified as Mendoza was operating a 2009 Toyota Corolla on US-270 at Hollow N1590 Road, located southeast of Beaver. Mendoza was reportedly traveling behind a 2020 Ram 3500 pickup truck at the time. According to officials, a collision occurred when Mendoza’s Corolla struck a Ram pickup truck from behind.
The incident took place on US-270, where the pickup truck was traveling westbound and had come to a stop in order to make a left turn.
According to officials, it has been reported that Mendoza remained trapped inside her vehicle for a duration exceeding two hours. Tragically, she was declared deceased at the crash site.
Teachers, clergy and staff will be available in the HHS Old Gym from 1-3pm Tuesday, August 1, for students to come and visit.
Officials from Beaver, Harper, Cimarron, and Texas Counties conducted an investigation into the incident.
