During his family vacation in France last month, the well-known TV celebrity was hospitalised and had a metal rod put into his thumb. On the first day of his vacation with his wife Gaby and their two kids Hope Blossom and Honour Willow, he dislocated his thumb in the water park. Ben’s horrified followers first shared a photo of him in bandages in a French hospital shortly after the horrific accident, but he now seems to be recovering.
Education
Ben had early success creating and marketing F-LUX lighting, one of the first portable LED lights in the world, and prototype furniture designs with Conran Partnership while studying Product and Furniture Design at Ravensbourne College. Ben eventually won ITV’s national competition for “The Next Big Thing” in interior design in 2010. Shortlisted by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Michelle Ogundehin, he appeared on “This Morning” for a series of interior design segments where he demonstrated how to modify and upcycle furniture to create distinctive and personal living spaces and, in the end, get a little sparkle without the sting. Ben has produced three seasons of “The Renovation Game” for Channel 4, as well as episodes of “You Deserve This House,” “60 Minute Makeover,” and “Auction Party” with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Ben is now back at Channel 4 with “A Place in the Sun.” Additionally, he represents Black and Decker and hosts the B&Q YouTube channel.
