Actor David Gail died in early 2024, leaving behind a career that touched some of the biggest TV shows of all time. From one-off appearances on "Doogie Howser, M.D." and "Murder, She Wrote" to roles in "Matlock," "ER," and "JAG," Gail was perpetually on television throughout the 1990s and 2000s. But one of his biggest roles came when he was cast in the teen drama series "Beverly Hills, 90210." He played a bellhop, Tom, in several scenes in Season 1, Episode 15, before being cast as Stuart Carson, the fiance of Shannen Doherty's character, Brenda Walsh, in Season 4. Gail's cause of death and the date of his death are still unknown, and his sister, Katie Colmenares, broke the news via Instagram. "There's barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side," Colmenares wrote in the post, dated January 21, 2024. Gail was 58 when he died.
Gail's death will surely be tragic for his many fans as well — in addition to his eight episodes on "90210," he also starred in 22 episodes of "Robin's Hood" and 34 episodes of "Savannah" in the '90s. Fans of medical dramas might remember him as Dr. Joe Scanlon on the series "Port Charles," in which he starred in 216 episodes.
