Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is to return this fall 2023, four years after the last festival.
The Odd Future co-founder continues to dominate across industries. From music to fashion, Tyler, the Creator remains one of the most creative and in-demand artists of his generation. And the festival scene is next in his sights.
Four years after Camp Flog Gnaw (GOLF WANG, Tyler’s label, spelt backwards) last took place, the festival is returning.
Camp Flog Gnaw confirmed to return in 2023
On Tuesday, May 30, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem released their new track, The Hillbillies, accompanied with a music video. Tyler, the Creator makes a surprise in the video, where he shared the exciting news that Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 will be happening.
In the video, Tyler flashes his Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 badge to camera before pointing at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The inaugural festival was held at the home of the Dodgers and it is expected to be held there again this fall.
The last Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival was held in October 2019. It is likely that the festival will be held in this month again, given that Major League Baseball season finishes on October 1, 2023. This means that there’s five months of anticipatory hype to come.
Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 tickets expected to come at cost
As of yet, ticket details for the upcoming festival have yet to be announced. The festival website has been wiped, with the only feature currently on the site being The Hillbillies music video.
Tickets to the first festival were issued by CFG Carnival’s official provider, Festival Ticketing. There were several ticket options available for the two-day festival. A General Admission (GA) ticket secured entry to both Saturday and Sunday. Carnival rides are also included with the GA tickets. A VIP pass includes all of the above as well as a dedicated entry lane, access to Hulu’s VIP Clubhouse, and VIP merch packages. Finally, there was the option for a Super VIP pass which also includes a Main Stage viewing area and a Super VIP merch package.
The total price for a GA pass was $270 in 2019. The VIP passes come in at $440 and the Super VIP passes costing $1,045. There is also the option to add a two-day unlimited carnival games add-on which costs $138. It is likely, considering the build-up to this festival paired with the rising cost of living, that these festival tickets will be at a higher price than the first year.
Presale for the very first Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival was held in mid-May. General Admission tickets were sold later in summer.
Expectations for next Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival lineup already high
Tyler, the Creator works with some of the biggest names in music. It comes as no surprise then that he can recruit top performers from across all genres to perform at his festival.
The first festival saw Drake, Solange, SZA, Lana Del Rey, and Kid Cudi all performing. Tyler himself performed a set and the likes of Clairo, slowthai, and the late Mac Miller also featured on the lineup.
It is likely that either Baby Keem or Kendrick Lamar (we’re hoping both) will perform at the 2023 festival, given that the news was announced through their music video. Tyler, and his Odd Future friends, are also expected to perform.
Several musicians have had their breakthroughs in the years since the last Camp Flog Gnaw. Early fan predictions are hoping for the likes of Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky to return to the lineup alongside newer acts such as Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat.
