DHL Express Tambah 24 Kendaraan Listrik di Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com -DHL Express, penyedia layanan ekspres internasional di dunia akan menambah 24 van elektrik (kendaraan listrik) untuk armada pengiriman jarak jauhnya.
CEO DHL Express John Pearson mengatakan, 24 unit kendaraan listrik akan digunakan untuk operasional di Jakarta dan Bandung. Kendaraan listrik tersebut, kata dia, akan mengurangi 177 ton emisi karbon setiap tahunnya.
"Pengenalan e-van (electric van) baru ini menegaskan komitmen perusahaan untuk membuka jalan bagi operasional yang lebih berkelanjutan, dan berkontribusi pada perlindungan iklim. Saat ini, terdapat 6 mobil (van) listrik dan 6 sepeda motor listrik yang melayani wilayah Jakarta dan Surabaya," kata John dalam keterangan tertulis, Senin (19/6/2023).
John mengatakan, berdasarkan Laporan Transparansi Iklim (Climate Transparency Report), sektor transportasi menyumbang hampir 24,9 persen dari total emisi karbon di Indonesia pada tahun 2021.
Ia mengatakan, sebagai tulang punggung perekonomian, sektor logistik memiliki tanggung jawab dan peran penting dalam mengurangi jejak karbon.
"DHL memiliki peta jalan yang jelas untuk mencapainya, dan tidak akan berhenti untuk mengidentifikasi solusi baru yang tersedia untuk mendukung misi pengurangan jejak karbon. Kami mengambil tindakan nyata dan bekerja sama dengan mitra yang sejalan untuk mendorong target keberlanjutan ini,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, CEO DHL Express Asia Pasifik Ken Lee mengatakan, DHL akan terus fokus pada operasional yang lebih bersih dan ramah lingkungan.
Hal ini, kata dia, mencakup semua proses operasional, mulai dari memuat pesawat hingga perencanaan rute untuk kurir.
“Ekspansi armada listrik di Indonesia dan layanan terbaru DHL, GoGreen Plus, memungkinkan pelanggan mengurangi emisi karbon melalui insetting (upaya pengurangan emisi karbon dalam operational perusahaan). Ini menunjukkan bahwa kami membuat terobosan panting dalam keberlanjutan lingkungan,” kata Ken.
Selanjutnya, Senior Technical Advisor DHL Express Indonesia Ahmad Mohamad mengatakan, pemutakhiran armada ke kendaraan listrik baru hanyalah awal dari perjalanan DHL melindungi bumi bagi generasi mendatang.
“Di tahun-tahun ke depan, kami akan terus mengalihkan armada kami ke kendaraan listrik, dan juga menyediakannya di kota-kota lain. Kami juga akan berinvestasi pada solusi rendah karbon lainnya, seperti truk elektronik dan panel surya untuk berbagai fasilitas kami di Indonesia," kata Ahmad.
Sebagai informasi, dalam Peta Jalan Keberlanjutan (Sustainability Roadmap), Deutsche Post DHL Group akan menginvestasikan total EUR 7 miliar hingga tahun 2030 sebagai bagian dari upaya pengurangan CO2. Hal ini termasuk transisi 60 persen semua armada pengiriman di seluruh Grup.
