He was taken into custody on 13 July 2023 because of being accused of killing three women. He committed the Gilgo Beach murders. He was charged with killing three women.
He is found main suspect in the murder of a fourth. The dead bodies were found unearthed near remote Gilgo Beach on Long Island’s South Shore more than a decade ago.
Investigators tried to determine whether the killings were committed by one person or by multiple attackers. The cases had been unsolved for more than a decade.

Ms. Barthelemy was found discovered dead on 11 December 2020 and two days later, the police found other three women.
