A Taylor Swift-themed version of the popular game 2048 has gone viral online that’s based on her ten albums.
The famous single-player sliding tile puzzle game was written by Italian web developer Gabriele Cirulli and published on GitiHub.
There are a series of numbered tiles on a grid and the objective is to slide and combine them to create a tile with the number 2048.
The new Taylor Swift version isn’t affiliated with the original 2048 game in any way but is an exact clone with the same rules.
If you’ve seen everyone playing Taylor Swift 2048 and want to have a go, here’s everything you need to know…
Taylor Swift 2048 goes viral
The free game is on a site called All 2048 which has number games themed with all different TV shows, singers, and celebrities.
From chocolate to BTS, Umbrella Academy to vegan foods, there are 2048 games based on everything you can think of.
However, the Taylor Swift one has gone the most viral, which is themed with the Anti-Hero singer’s ten studio albums.
The number tiles are the singer’s album covers and you build your way up through the albums as you get to a higher number.
It starts with her debut album Taylor Swift, which is the number two tile, and goes on to Fearless, which is four, Speak Now as eight, and so on.
How to play Taylor Swift 2048
When you open the Taylor Swift 2048 game, you’ll be greeted with a plain 4×4 grid with two number-two tiles on.
You need to use the four arrows on your keyboard to move the tiles around and the objective is to combine them and make the number bigger.
Every time you move the tiles left, right, up, or down using an arrow key, a new number will appear in an empty spot on the board with a value of two or four.
Tiles will slide as far as possible in the chosen direction until they are stopped by either another tile or the edge of the grid.
If two tiles collide, they will merge into one tile with the total value of both tiles. When this happens, your score goes up.
You win the game when a tile with a value of 2048 appears on the board. However, you can continue beyond that point.
If there are no empty spaces and no adjacent tiles with the same value, you have no more legal moves and it’s game over.
Fans are obsessed with the game
Taylor Swift fans have been taking to Twitter to discuss the game and it’s safe to say everyone is totally obsessed.
One person joked: “Not now babe I’m breaking my Taylor Swift 2048 record.”
“2048 Taylor Swift album is my current obsession,” said another.
A third person added: “Discovered 2048 for Taylor Swift albums and I am addicted.”
“I strongly recommend Taylor Swift 2048,” someone else tweeted.
