In Apple Music app on a Mac or iTunes for Windows, you can view a list of devices associated with your Apple ID for purchases and remove the devices that you no longer want associated.

When you sign in with your Apple ID on a device and use that device to make purchases or subscribe to Apple services, the device becomes associated with your account.

You don’t need to associate your devices to buy content or download new purchases. You can remove an associated device if:

• You reach your limit of associations and want to add a new one.

You can have ten devices (no more than five computers) associated with your Apple ID for purchases at one time.

When you try to associate another device that was previously associated, you might see a message that says, “This device is associated with another Apple ID. How to Remove Devices from iCloud on Your Mac

To remove devices from your iCloud account, you first need to open up the iCloud settings. To do this on a Mac, open the System Preferences and click on “iCloud”.

Next, in the iCloud system preferences, click on “Account Details”.

You will be required to enter your iCloud password before you can continue.

Once you’re in the Account Details screen, click on the “Devices” tab. Select the device you want to remove and then click “Remove From Account”. If there is a device you don’t recognize, then it may be someone else’s–in which case you should remove it immediately and change your iCloud password.

The next dialog will warn you that if the device you’re removing is still signed in and connects to the Internet, that it will reappear in the devices list.

If you’re selling the device, now would be the time to perform a factory reset as well.

How to Remove Devices from iCloud on Your iPhone or iPad

Removing devices from your iCloud account on your iOS device is similar to how it’s done on the Mac. To begin, open Settings and tap on “iCloud”.

In the iCloud settings, tap on your name to access the account details.

Again, you will have to enter your password before you can proceed.

Just like on your Mac, you can see all the devices that currently associated with your iCloud account.

In iOS 13 and iPadOS, Apple has combined the Find My Friends and the ‌Find My‌ iPhone apps into a single app called “‌Find My‌.” ‌Find My‌ works similarly to the apps it replaces. For example, just like ‌Find My‌ ‌iPhone‌, it allows you to put stolen, lost or misplaced Apple devices into Lost Mode.

Remotely turning on Lost Mode ensures that your passcode is required on the device, meaning no one but you can change its ‌Find My‌ status, or erase it without connecting it to a computer. And even if your ‌iPhone‌ is fully erased, the person who has it can’t use it. Activation Lock (activated when you turn on ‌Find My‌ on a device where your Apple ID is logged in) stays on and there is no way to bypass it.

Of course, while the Lost Mode feature can increase your chances of retrieving your property, it can’t guarantee that you’ll ever see the lost device again.

‌Find My‌ is the most important feature to have turned on in the event a device is lost, but there are other key security options you should use, including a passcode and two-factor authentication.

With a passcode, no one can access personal data stored on your ‌iPhone‌, and with two-factor authentication, your ‌Apple ID‌ will be safer from hacking attempts, something a thief or person with malicious intent might try to get access to on a stolen device to disable Activation Lock.

If you’re no longer using an iOS device, a Mac, or an Apple TV, you can remove it from your account by following the steps below. When you remove a device set up to use Apple Pay, Apple Pay is disabled for the device, and your cards are removed from the device, even if the device is offline.

You can also remove your Apple Watch.

• If it has watchOS 3, remove it from Find My iPhone.
• If it has watchOS 2, remove it by following the steps below. However, if you’re still looking for your Apple Watch with watchOS 2, and it has Activation Lock enabled, mark it as missing instead of removing it. That way, your Apple ID and password are required to reactivate and use your Apple Watch. If your Apple Watch has Activation Lock enabled, and you don’t mark it as missing before you remove it, Activation Lock is disabled when you remove it. You might want that to happen if you sold or gave away your Apple Watch with watchOS 2 but forgot to disable Activation Lock.

1. Go to Settings on iCloud.com, then look at the My Devices section. If you don’t see the My Devices section, your account just has access to iCloud web-only features. To gain access to other iCloud features, set up iCloud on your iOS device or Mac.
2. In the list of devices, click the one you want to remove.
3. Click the Delete button next to the device. If you don’t see the Delete button, click Remove Device (below the device’s serial or IMEI number).

Besides removing an iOS device or a Mac from iCloud, you can remove it from Find My iPhone in iCloud preferences on a Mac, or in Settings > [your name] > iCloud (or Settings > iCloud) on an iOS device.

If you remove a device from iCloud, and the device reconnects to the Internet, it reappears in the My Devices section of Settings.

Note that if you also remove it from Find My iPhone, activation lock will be turned off.
