It can be hard to get away from working and collaborating on the web. Doing that is incredibly convenient: as long as you have an internet connection, you can easily work and share from just about anywhere, on just about any device.

The main problem with most web-based office suites—like Google Drive, Zoho Office, and Office365—is that they’re closed source. Your data also exists at the whim of large corporations. I’m sure you’ve heard numerous stories of, say, Google locking or removing accounts without warning.

If that happens to you, you lose what’s yours. So what’s an open source advocate who wants to work with web applications to do? You turn to an open source alternative, of course. Let’s take a look at three of them.

Sandstorm Oasis

Sandstorm Oasis is the hosted version of Sandstorm.io, which bills itself as an open source operating system for personal and private clouds. You get a choice of over 50 applications in categories like productivity, office, graphics, communication, and developer tools. You get just about everything you need to work, share, and collaborate.

Those applications include EtherPad, EtherCalc, GitLab, WeKan, Rocket.Chat, and Draw.io. When you fire up an application, it creates a grain. A grain is a single, standalone instance of an application, for example, a document or a chat room. You can share individual grains with others by sending them a link.

If you’re collaborating on a project, you can share a set of grains as a single package using the Collections app. Just start the app, create a collection for your project, and then add grains to the collection. It keeps things nice and neat in your instance of Sandstorm Oasis.

Framasoft

Like Sandstorm Oasis, Framasoft pulls a disparate set of web apps together into one place. Unlike Sandstorm Oasis, however, the folks behind Framasoft have rebranded the applications and given them a consistent look and feel.

Framasoft includes web applications like EtherPad (called Framapad), GitLab (called Framagit), MatterMost (called Framateam), and EtherCalc (called Framacalc). The suite also includes a read-it-later tool, a vector drawing program, an RSS reader, a URL shortener, a kanban board, and file sharing tools. You can use a public instance of many apps, or sign in to keep your data private. Be ready to stretch your linguistic muscles if you want to use the Framasoft suite: most of the applications are in French, and there doesn’t seem to be a way change the interface to a different language.

Open365

I can’t think of an open source user who doesn’t know and love (or, at least, like) LibreOffice. It’s not just for the desktop anymore, either. You can find it on the web in the form of Open365.

As its name suggests, Open365 is positioned as an open source rival to Microsoft’s Office 365 suite. You get a limited number of applications, which include LibreOffice mainstays Write, Calc, and Impress. There’s also an email application and a web-based version of The GIMP image editor. You also get space to store files.

Sharing documents and collaborating isn’t as easy in Open365 as it is in, say, Sandstorm Oasis. To share or collaborate, you need to create a group. Then you need to add members to that group by either uploading a CSV file containing email addresses or by selecting existing Open365 users from a pick list. In either case, those users need to have an Open365 account.

While Open365 can run a bit slowly, one of its main selling points is that it has the same look and feel as the desktop version of LibreOffice. On top of that, you can install client software on your computer to keep your files synchronized.

Do it yourself

You’ll notice that the three alternatives I discuss in this article are hosted. Even though they’re open source, you’re still at the mercy of the service offering the applications closing shop or unexpected outages.

If you have a server, however, you have a couple of options. You can download and install Sandstorm.io and Open365 on your server. Or, if you’re willing to roll your own suite and mix and match, you can install the web applications you want on your server. That won’t give you a single login, but you’ll have complete control over your applications.

Do you have a favorite alternative to Google Drive or Office 365? Feel free to share you pick by leaving a comment below.

Open365 is an open source Office 365 alternative that allows you to edit or create documents online, and to sync files with the cloud.

The service is in beta currently but you can sign up for it already on the official website. You may use it using a web browser, download clients for Windows, Mac or Linux desktop machines, or for Android. An iOS client is in the making currently and will be made available as well soon.

Open 365 offers two main features that you can make use of. First, it enables you to synchronize files between devices you use and the cloud.

Second, it allows you to view, edit and create documents in the cloud using the technology provided by the Open Source Office suite LibreOffice Online for that.

Open365

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

You can sign up for the service on the official website currently but the makers plan to release repositories that you can install on servers you have control over to create a self-hosted version of Open365 that you have more control over.

When you sign up for the service you get an email address automatically assigned to you that you use to sign in to the web service and the sync clients, and for mail.

You do get 20 Gigabyte of storage as well right now which is more than what many other file synchronization services offer at the time of writing.

It is unclear however if the 20 Gigabyte are only available during the beta period.

The web service loads the “Hub” view on start automatically. It lists all libraries that you own and that are shared with you by default.

A click on a folder opens the contents directly on the web, a click on files either in one of the editors if the file format is supported, or offered for download if it is not.

The focus is on documents but support goes beyond typical document formats such as docx, xls or pptx. Open365 supports an image viewer that supports all common image formats, and a media player to play audio and video content.

Libraries or individual files can be shared or deleted online, and you may upload new files directly to the web interface using your web browser of choice.

One interesting feature is the ability to create new libraries on the Web, and here specifically the option to encrypt content so that it can only be accessed if the right password is supplied. The password is not linked to the account password.

As far as sharing is concerned, you can share files or libraries with individual users or user groups, and get full control over shared links and permissions online as well.

Document editing and creation

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

This works for the most part as you would expect it to work. You can load any Office document with a double-click on the web interface, and Open365 will load it in the associated editor.

You can read the document right away there, print it, or start to edit it. If you have used LibreOffice Online or offline before, you will feel right at home, but even if you have not, you will have little issues using Open365 to edit documents.

Open365 saves edits automatically in intervals, but you may use save options to to do manually at any time. Edited documents may be saved online or to the local device instead, and you may export them to the same document format or a different compatible format.

The loading time of documents is a bit slow online right now which means that you will have to wait a couple of seconds before it is displayed in the editor.

Open365 Sync Client

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

The sync client works for the most part as you would expect it to work. You can use drag and drop to add folders that you want to sync with the cloud, or use the built-in folder browser instead for that.

Folders are turned into libraries automatically when you add them to the sync client. You may change the name of the library and enable encryption before you hit the ok button to start the synchronization.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Options are provided to configure the sync process and other features of the desktop client. You open the options with a right-click on the icon in the system tray.

The settings allow you to set download and upload speed limits, disable http syncing, or configure what the service should do when you remove a library from a local directory or when a library is not found on the server.

Closing Words

Open365 is an alternative to Office 365 and Google Docs. It is free and open source, and ships both with file sync and document viewing, editing and creation options on the Internet.

The option to install Open365 on your own server may make it interesting to users who want or need to keep full control of documents, and cannot or don’t want to use Office 365 or Google Docs because of this.

Open365 is an open-source alternatives to Office 365 lets you create and edit documents online, and sync files to the cloud.

During Currently the service is still in Beta testing, but already can sign up at their official website. You can use it through a Web browser, you can also download the client Windows, Mac or Linux desktop, Android client has been, and iOS client will be released in the near future.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Microsoft Office 365 is great and with that being the case, there will always be imitators. It didn’t take very long for imitators to jump in the fold, and one of the more well-known ones is Open 365.

As you can clearly tell, this program is from the open source community. While we do not see it becoming a huge competitor to Office 365 or Google Docs, it should allow Linux users to have a real choice, especially for those who prefer to use open software.

Open 365 in many ways work similarly to Office 365. The main difference will require users to use Libre Office to get the most out of the service. (Not sure what Libre Office is? Well, it is free Word editor for Linux operating systems — and probably the most popular one at this time.)

The service, from what we have come to understand, gives users 20GB of free storage to keep their files. Furthermore, all files can be synchronized across multiple devices at the same time.

At the moment, Open 365 is in beta, but its developers are making big plans nonetheless. One plan is to allow users to host their own web servers to store their files. This is something not offered by either Microsoft or Google and honestly, we wish this were the case.

The main reason behind using cloud storage is to gain access to our files anywhere from any device. However, not everyone is keen on storing their files on servers that could permanently go offline. The developer even has the right to remove your content, so what the Open 365 guys are doing is a great idea from our point of view.

Open 365 is also available for Windows, so go ahead of check it out via its official website to see if it is up to your standards.

Among the multiple alternatives to Microsoft Office that we can find for our tablet with Windows 10, there is one that will especially like users who love the tools of FOSS. Many of you may already know LibreOffice, but what you may not yet know is that this project has a platform called Open365, capable of synchronizing documents in the cloud.

For now, we must be aware that Open365 is an alternative to Office 360 found in beta and it may show some fault. However, it is free, offers up to 20 GB free and what we have tested for the moment seems to be quite functional, although it has some other fluidity problems. Its environment mixes elements of KDE and the LibreOffice program.

The first thing: sign up for Open365

For now the entire interface is in English. However, in case you do not master the language very well, we are going to detail step by step how to proceed in order to enjoy the tool. As we say, the first step is go to the Open365 website and write our email in the text boxor. Once this is done, a form-type screen will appear, where we must complete User Nickname / Password / Confirm password / Email / Name / Surname and accept the privacy policy.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

We will automatically be given the opportunity to download the client program Open365 for Windows and we will also be offered to install the app for Android o iOS. We can skip all these steps or carry out the one that interests us. If we download the program, it is 62,8 MB. The experience is probably better, but we will take up space on the device.

It is time to click on ‘I’m ready’ write our user nick followed by @ open365.io and meet with the main interface.

Starting to work with documents

To create a new document, click on the upper left area, where it says Cloud. And select what we want to launch a new sheet of text, presentation o table. We can also generate folders from there.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

The program is by default in English, but we can activate other dictionaries from Tools> Language> More Dictionaries Online.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

My library is the personal home folder, but we can create new libraries by clicking on New Library. We even have the ability to encrypt them.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Another interesting option is upload our own documents (not only odt, it also accepts docx) and continue working from the platform. To do this, from our library, we click on Upload and we navigate until we find the file that we want through the folders of the tablet.

Why do I need cloud for my Office? ( Score: 1)

I am not a cloud hater, there are some big advantages to the cloud. However for Office Tools I see no real benefit.
Our Computers are fast enough to handle them (even low end devices). Besides Office Tools should be available in an offline mode anyways.
Microsoft 360 offers no real benefit to the end user except for Microsoft so people keep paying for the service. Vs. Getting a copy and using it for as long as it will work on their systems.
If you want cloud for your office tool. use Google Drive.

Re: ( Score: 2)

However for Office Tools I see no real benefit.

I generally agree with this – I really prefer to work offline and have my documents stored locally. However, in a couple of my classes, teams of students often use the online Google Docs. The main benefit here is that multiple people can synchronously edit the document. It’s weird to watch, but it’s particularly helpful during online meetings where we’re working together on a document. The changes are made live and any of us can make the changes. Or when working on a presentation, we can all be working

Re: ( Score: 2)

I’m not promoting Office 365 or Google Docs but the advantages to a web based office suite seem pretty obvious to me. No software to install or update, accessible from anywhere with real time collaboration. But for the average user, I think the biggest thing is no more lost files to usual hard drive failure or virus. Buy a new computer? No problem, login to the website and there are all your files.

I really wish there was a REAL, native, web-based alternative to Google and Microsoft.

Re:Why do I need cloud for my Office? ( Score: 5, Insightful)

I pay $99 for 5 instances of all of that and consider it well worth it. 5 installs of Office. 5TB of cloud storage. 5 hours of Skype minutes. etc. I consider it the second best deal in tech. Amazon Prime being the first.

Re: ( Score: 2)

If you are signed up to Amazon Prime, you get a selection of streaming video for free too.

Re: ( Score: 2)

I like how you assume everyone is just like you and only orders 3-4 times a year from Amazon.

I order 3-4 times a month from Amazon. I haven’t been into a Wal-Mart in years. Couldn’t be happier.

Re: ( Score: 2)

Google Voice. Unlimited free calling to US/Canada. So that negates the whole Skype minutes thing.

We don’t want web UIs! We want native apps! ( Score: 5, Insightful)

If there’s one thing that should be clear by now, it’s that normal users and advanced users don’t want to use web-based UIs! They always give an inferior experience to native apps, regardless of the platform.

Most of mobile’s success is because of native apps, not because of web apps. And the native apps that have been implemented as wrappers around locally-running web apps have generally been disliked by users.

People don’t use services like GMail or Google Docs or Office 365 or Dropbox or Facebook because of the web UIs. They use them in spite of the web UIs! They want the unlimited email storage, or the ease of sharing files, or the ease of sharing private/personal info with advertisers.

This is where the web technology advocates really strike out. Users don’t use web apps because they want to; they use them because they want the back-end service, and there’s often not a native client provided. When native clients are provided, we typically see users opting to use them instead of the shitty web front ends.

Online editing tools that are stored on the cloud are here to stay, whether you like it or not. While initially Google Docs was the place to go when it came to free storage and quality editing tools, nowadays there are a number of other alternatives that go a step further than what Microsoft’s online office suite offers. Open365 presents users with a virtual space allowing you to store and sync your data onto the cloud while integrating it with LibreOffice Online. This feature allows you to work with documents remotely and use them as a collaborative tool.

Where did Open365 come from?

EyeOS is a Spanish project that offers team solutions for online editing based on virtual work environments. Using this principle as a foundation along with; the strength of KDE, cloud syncing, and storing on Seafile, as well as the aforementioned web editing tools that come with the LibreOffice software package paved the way for the coming of the Open365 beta.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

What does Open365 offer?

Registering is free and it’ll allow you to access a variety of online editing tools right from your browser. You’ll get to use the word processor Writer, create spreadsheets on Calc, along with presentations. Using an internal email client that’s linked to your account after registering, you’ll also gain access to cloud storage that includes 20Gb of free space which you can use to house your documents.

How to use Open365

Accessing through the URL will take you to where you need to register as well as to the toolkit that this service offers its users. You’ll need to install additional software onto your desktop in order to completely synchronize your files automatically onto a locally stored folder. While that might sound a bit complicated, managing these files is simplified through Open365’s own app that handles your files on Android so you’ll be able to access them remotely from anywhere. There’s also an option to keep several different synced folders, then use your desktop as a local server where you store your files instead of leaving them on Open365’s servers.

Open365 is currently still in open beta phase, meaning registering is free and will get you 20Gb of free cloud storage. For now, it’s still up in the air whether the final version will maintain these user conditions. One thing for sure, is that this is certainly a promising new service that is of interest to users both because of its mobility and opportunities for collaborative work.

Open365 is an Open Source, self-hosted file sync and cloud apps platform including a full LibreOffice Online. You can also access your email, calendar and contacts using KDE Kontact. Everything is accessible from a simple webpage using any HTML5 browser.

We believe that OpenSource communities all around the world, like LibreOffice, Mozilla, KDE and many others, have state of the art desktop software that can compete face-to-face with closed source, online, cloud applications if given the opportunity.

All good desktop Open Source software shouldn’t be limited to your personal computer. We want to allow anyone to create and provide online web services using LibreOffice, Kontact, Thunderbird, or any other opensource desktop program.

We started some months ago open-sourcing our spice web client that allows any GNU/Linux or Windows application to be remotely displayed and controlled from an HTML5 browser with very good performance, low latency and limited throughput. By open-sourcing the entire Open365 platform we want to encourage users to create their own clouds. Clouds that could be personal or for organizations, but clouds under your control, with clear rules and respecting user privacy.

Open365 provides a complete platform ready to be used, out of the box for sharing and collaboration, but at the same time it provides an Open Platform to be modified and hacked. You can include your preferred Open Source applications and integrate them with the file sync, sharing and collaboration features and make them accessible from a unified and integrated platform.

You can start using Open365 from our free online service Open365.io or download it and deploy it to your own server.

Have you ever wanted to run Libre Office in a web browser? With this new software you can! Introducing Open365. It is, in short, the entire Libre Office suite in the browser. The project is attempting to be an open alternative to Microsoft’s online office suite (Microsoft Office in the browser) Office365.

The reason for Open365 is an understandable one: there currently isn’t any totally open office suite for the Web. Sure, you have Office365, and even Google Docs, but this isn’t good enough when looking through the lens of free and open source software.

Usage

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Along with the office options in the cloud menu, it’s possible to go to the Hub section to manage your uploaded files, send mail, check mail, and file sync if you’re looking to download the sync client again.

What makes Open365 special?

If you’ve ever used Libre Office Writer or any of its other office tools, you know what to expect. Signing up for Open365 gets you about 20 GiB of storage space. This storage space encompasses any documents you create on the service.

The service isn’t just a fancy web app though. You’ll actually be required to install some software on your system. This software comes in the form of a document syncing client. If you’re looking to upload some document files to the Open365 system, you can easily do this right from your desktop.

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Open365 is very impressive in more than a few ways. It supports a multitude of document formats including ones that comply to open standards. Along with that, it is running as a regular Linux desktop application inside a web browser. It’s not a butchered version of Libre Office. Not at all. Instead, it’s had some stuff laid over the top and been optimized.

Along with document formats and the incredible technology behind it all, there are other very compelling features as well such as encryption, document sharing, collaboration, folder organization.

Conclusion

Though we have a few choices for online office suites, none of them are truly open source. That’s why I’m very excited about Open365. It ushers in a totally new way to think about applications on the web, and I can’t wait to see what the developers do with it next.

What do you think about running Libre Office in a web browser? Is it feasible? Tell us why below!

How to set up and use open365 an open source alternative to office 365

Open365 is the best free alternative to Office 365. Here’s how to set it up on Windows PC

Microsoft Office 365 provides the latest versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint to be used in any web browser, as a mobile app, or as PC software. The use of an account means files are synced across devices, and 1TB of free OneDrive storage is also thrown in. Overall it’s a great package, but it will cost you £7.99 per month.

Open365 is a new package providing a free alternative to Office 365. Based on LibreOffice’s suite, it provides free equivalents of Microsoft programs, and includes a generous 20GB of storage space.

Step 1

Open365, currently in beta, is available as both a program and a web-based service, although you will need to create an account to use it. To sign up, go to put your email address in the bar at the bottom of the page, and click ‘Sign Up’. You will need to provide a username and password to create your free Open365 account. Next, enter your personal details, making sure to select ‘At home’ from the dropdown menu. Tick the T&C box and hit ‘Register’.

Open365 doesn’t have an iOS app yet, but we’ll show you how to use its free Android app. Open it, click ‘Add account’, select ‘cloud.open365.io’, enter your Open365 login details, tap Login, then Allow. You’ll now see two tabs. Tap Libraries, then open My Library to see all your synced files. Tap any file to open it using your default Google office apps (Docs, Sheets and Slides). Step 10

A great way to make use of Open365’s 20GB free space is by turning on its Camera Upload feature. This will automatically save any photos you take on your device to Open365. To do that, tap the three dots at the top right of the app, then Settings. Next, tap the ‘Turn on Camera Upload’ slider. Next, swipe across a number of screens, selecting your preferences. So (in order) select ‘Wi-Fi only’, ‘Photos only’, ‘Automatically guess camera albums’, and My Library, then tap Confirm. Any photos you take on your device will now appear in a new My Photos folder within My Library.

Download and learn how to use Open365 on your Windows 10 tablet, the free alternative to Office 365

Written by Javier GM

Among the many alternatives to Microsoft Office that we can find for our tablet with Windows 10, there is one that users who love tools will especially like free software. Many may already know LibreOffice, but what you may need to know, is that this project has a platform called Open365, capable of synchronizing documents in the cloud.

For now, we must be aware that Open365 is an alternative to Office 360 found in beta phase and may show some failure. However, it is free, offers up to 20 GB free and what we have tried at the moment seems to be quite functional, even if it has some problem of fluency. Its environment mixes elements of KDE and the LibreOffice program.

First: sign up for Open365

For now the entire interface is in English. However, if you do not speak the language very well, we will go step by step detailing how to proceed to enjoy the tool. As we tell you, the first step is go to the Open365 website and write our mail in the text boxor. Once this is done, a form screen will appear, where we must complete User Nickname / Password / Confirm Password / Email / First Name / Last Name and accept the privacy policy.

We will automatically be given the opportunity to download the client program Open365 for Windows and we will also be offered to install the app to Android or iOS. We can skip all these steps or carry out the one that interests us. If we download the program, it is 62.8 MB. The experience is probably better, but we will take up space on the device.

It’s time to click on “I’m ready” to write our user nick followed by @ open365.io and find us with the main interface.

Starting to work with documents

To create a new document click on the upper left area, where it says Cloud. And select what we want to launch a new sheet of text, presentation or table. We can also generate folders from there.

The program is by default in English, but we can activate other dictionaries from Tools> Language> More Dictionaries Online.

My library is the personal startup folder, but we can create new libraries by clicking on New library. We even have the possibility to encrypt them.

Another interesting option is that of upload our own documents (not only odt, also accepts docx) and continue working from the platform. To do this, from our bookstore, we click on Upload and we navigate until we find the file we want through the folders of the tablet.

From here, start generate content or to explore a little more the possibilities of this web application already depends on you.

If you have a Windows 10 tablet, you can find news, tutorials and tricks in our section dedicated to the system.

The Microsoft Office 365 vs. Google Apps for Work battle may have an emerging third-party rival. It’s called Open365 — an open source platform that builds upon LibreOffice. The Open365 offering could also compete with a growing list of Desktop as a Service providers across the IT channel.

  • Open365 is a suite of office products that builds on the existing LibreOffice Online. With it, you can create, edit, and view documents in the cloud, and synchronize files across a range of different devices.
  • You can access Open365 through your Web browser, or download clients for Windows, Mac, Linux, or Android. An iOS client is even in the works.
  • Open365 is currently in beta, though there are complaints it’s very slow to use right now.

It’s sounds like Open365 is available to download and deploy across on-premises servers, or simply choose the online option.

Open365 vs. Office 365: Open Source Limitations

Even as Open365’s performance potentially improves, ChannelE2E certainly isn’t predicting that it will disrupt Office 365 or Google Apps in the business world. Moreover, it’s not quite accurate to position Open365 as a full-blown alternative to the Microsoft and Google offerings.

After all, both Google and Microsoft offer a range of email and collaboration in their cloud suites — while Open365 sounds far more like a classic suite offering (document creation, etc.). Plus, there’s no indication that an Open365 partner program will emerge. And it’s unclear — at least for now — if or how service providers can host the offering on their own.

Still, take a closer look and you could find some partner program clues. For instance, EyeOS — which launched in 2005 to solve online file sharing — apparently is the company behind Open365 (though we haven’t confirmed that). EyeOS in 2013 introduced an HTML5 web client that enables the virtualization of applications in a web browser. And by 2014, Telefonica acquired EyeOS — which now has a partner program. Hmmm…

Open365 vs Desktop as a Service

In some limited ways, it sounds like Open365 may also compete with Desktop as a Service and Workspace as a Service options that are widely available across the IT channel. VMware has been gaining momentum with its End User Computing (EUC) offerings, while smaller companies like CloudNation, IndependenceIT, MyCloudIT, OS33 and nGenx have a range of DaaS and WaaS options that VARs and MSPs have been adopting.

Meanwhile, the “open source vs. Microsoft” story is a familiar one, especially when Microsoft achieves critical mass in specific markets. Linux has managed to compete effectively against Windows Server on cloud and business servers. But open source alternatives to Exchange Server, SharePoint, Dynamics and other business applications never seemed to slow Microsoft’s momentum.

Still, we’ll keep an eye on Open365 and it’s evolution as an aspiring alternative to Office 365 and Google Apps for Work.

Open365 is a completely free and open source project, which is like Microsoft’s Office 365 version. Basically, Open 365 is no different from Office 365 but it’s free and gets 20GB of space. Both of these services allow users to create and edit text files online as well as share them anywhere via the cloud.

Because Open365 is in beta, so it is difficult to avoid many errors, Taimienphi.vn recommends that you try the experience and should not let your important work should this platform, if possible you should sign up for Office 365 and try using Using this service, this is quite a famous service of Microsoft. Honorable Mention – SoftMaker FreeOffice 2021

SoftMaker FreeOffice 2021 is my personal pick for a Microsoft Office Suite alternative on Linux but the reason why I’m listing it as an honorable mention is that it is only free as a trial version.

It is developed by the company that owns FreeOffice 2021 with 2 more apps – Basicmaker and Extended Thunderbird. Its premium version comes with even more apps for businesses – cash you might not mind spending if you want a desktop app exactly like Microsoft Office on your Linux machine.

That wraps up our list of office suite software that you can use for free on your Linux machines and they all have their pros and cons.

You’ve probably used a couple of them in the past; what was your experience with them like and which ones do you think offer the best performance? Drop your comments, suggestions in the discussion box below.

Open365

Looking forward to strong development of OpenOffice. I hate MS monopoly.

Gonna ditto everyone on the cert thing, I really would like my net+ and MCP for server, but every year i tack on more experience the less i want to pursue the cert. I think having those certs could net me more money than they cost in the long run though. ugh

Super excited about Open365! Got tired of paying Microsoft for what should be free software around 2000, and have used alternatives since. Best decision I ever made.

You gotta be kitten me.

Are you saying you’re never gonna have a client that doesn’t want a free office solution? 😛 Have fun working for the man.

No, I just really wanted to say that. Carpe diem.

I don’t think they’re nearly as important as people make them out to be. The biggest use is providing something for useless HR bots to feed into the computers that they let do their jobs for them. Very few I would say have any real value. Experience and practical skills > paper skills. at least that’s how it should be.

Met, had to follow and lost too many jobs to paper IT that needed to be hand held all the way.

If I’d lost jobs just because I didn’t have them then I’d say that makes them important!

Yes the Experience and practical skills are more important but fi you can’t get a job with just them then that “paper” becomes a necessity!

Come suggerisce il nome, Open365 è posizionato come un rivale open source della suite Office 365 di Microsoft. Ottieni un numero limitato di applicazioni, che includono i pilastri di LibreOffice Write, Calc e Impress.
