David Muir is a journalist who helps run the shows ABC World News Tonight and 20/20 on ABC News.
Before September 1, 2014, he was the weekend anchor for ABC’s World News Tonight. David has won a lot of Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards for his work at ABC News covering national and international news.
David Muir might leave World News Tonight
David Muir became the host of the overnight news show World News Now when he joined ABC News in August 2003. He also became the early-morning host of ABC News’s World News This Morning.
The journalist hasn’t said anything about leaving the show, and on social media he still calls himself the anchor of ABC World News.
In June 2007, Muir became the host of World News Saturday. In 2006 and sometimes after that, he helped host the news show Primetime. In February 2012, Muir took over as a weekend news anchor, and the show’s name was changed to “World News with David Muir.”
He has been given credit behind the scenes for the rise in weekend evening TV ratings. In March 2013, he was given the chance to co-host ABC’s 20/20 show with Elizabeth Vargas.
In March 2016, Muir won a CINE Golden Eagle Award for his coverage of the heroin crisis in the U.S. In 2021, the news anchor took over as ABC News’ main news anchor for breaking news and big events.
There are rumors that ABC News anchor David Muir will marry his girlfriend Kate Dries
David Muir keeps his personal life out of the spotlight, but there was a big event that made a lot of people think he was going to settle down with a special person.
When an editor named Kate Dries wrote an article in which she said he was her boyfriend, people raised their eyebrows and held their breath.
In 2015, Jezebel published the article “Report Says My Boyfriend David Muir Is a Monster.”
In the article, Dries said that she and Muir went to Rome together and that they hit it off right away. Surprisingly, there were no other clues that the two were related, and the anchor didn’t say anything about it.
But David seems to be single right now and has no plans to get married. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been asked to marry a lot. On social media, his many fans are always telling him how great he is.
His work seems to take up most of his time, so he doesn’t have much time for his love life.
