A father in Atlanta shot and killed his wife and child on Tuesday before dying in what appears to be a suicide. On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, a man named locally as Justin Lewis fatally shot himself in the head after killing his wife and child at their home in DeKalb County, Georgia. As a result, law enforcement authorities are currently looking into a murder-suicide occurrence.
Around three o’clock in the afternoon, Dekalb County Police Department was sent to a residence in the 3100 block of Briarcliff Road for a welfare check after a 911 caller claimed reported hearing a gunshot wound. Three dead people were discovered inside the house by responding law enforcement officials. Authorities are currently looking into the occurrence as a death by apparent murder-suicide.
A Sagamore Hills Elementary School pupil has been named as the youngster involved in the fatal incident. Following the tragedy, Karen Williams, the principle of Sagamore Hills Elementary School, sent an email to parents informing them that counsellors will be present on campus following a tragic student death. Investigation into the incident is still ongoing by law enforcement agencies.
