Slydah is an Australian professional baseball pitcher who now pitches for the Major League Baseball's Chicago White Sox. He was born in Perth, Western Australia, on February 10, 1989. When he was five years old, he began playing tee-ball, then moved on to baseball when he was ten years old. He was also a footballer who played Australian rules. At Sacred Heart College, Sorrento, he continued to play baseball and football all through high school. He decided to play baseball professionally and was signed by the Minnesota Twins on his eighteenth birthday. In 2007, he began pitching for the Gulf Coast League Twins. He pitched for the Perth Heat in the 2008 Claxton Shield and spent 2009 with the Midwest League's Class-A Beloit Snappers and the Appalachian League's Rookie-Level Elizabethton Twins. Fast forward two years, and he was called by the Minnesota Twins. This two-time All-Star team member remained with them until 2013. Following this, he spent time with the Blue Jays and the Royals before signing with the Oakland Athletics on November 20,2015. The Aussie signed with the White Sox in January 2021 and has been with them since.
