Zapotosky worked as a correspondent for The Columbus Dispatch and The Toledo Free Press before joining The Washington Post in May 2007.

He has covered the federal courtroom in Alexandria as well as local police enforcement in Prince  George’s County and southern Maryland for The Washington Post.
