Steve Scalise marital status is married and he got married to Jennifer Scalise. The couple got married on March 19, 2005, after dating for a few years. The wedding took place at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

Jennifer Scalise was raised up in Louisiana and went to Andrew Jackson Fundamental Magnet High School in Chalmette.

When they got married, Jennifer was working with an environmental consulting firm called Ses Inc., based in Kansas. The couple now lives in Jefferson, Louisiana, with their two children, Madison and Harrison.

Before becoming a member of Congress, Scalise spent time in the Louisiana State Senate for four months and served three terms in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

He was in charge of the House Republican Study Committee from 2013 to 2014. On June 19, 2014, Scalise’s fellow Republicans elected him as the majority whip of the United States House of Representatives, and he officially started on August 1.

He’s the first person from Louisiana to hold this position since Hale Boggs, who served from 1962 to 1971. In 2017, when Senator David Vitter retired, Scalise became the senior member of the Louisiana congressional delegation.

Scalise’s district includes many of New Orleans’ suburbs, like Metairie, Kenner, and Slidell, as well as a part of New Orleans itself.

On June 14, 2017, while practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game, Scalise was shot and seriously hurt by someone who didn’t like President Trump and was targeting Republicans. He had to go through several months of treatment but returned to Congress on September 28.
