Pharmacy graduate Sahil Gehlot, whose family owns a dhaba in Mitraon village, was detained by the Delhi Police. The name of the deceased has been told as Nikki Yadav. A resident who knew the couple informed the police about the missing woman. In Haryana’s Jhajjar, the relatives of the woman were unable to contact her. The police visited the house of Gehlot’s family friends, but no one was there.

As per preliminary interrogation, the 24-year-old suspect told the Delhi Police that he had met the victim, Nikki Yadav, in 2018 at a tuition facility in the Uttam Nagar neighborhood. Later, they got together, got married, and started living together.
Sahil Gehlot claimed that his family was pressurizing him to marry another woman, and in December 2022, the engagement and wedding dates of the accused were fixed for February 9 and 10 respectively.
Nikki was not aware of the engagement or marriage preparations of the accused. Somehow on coming to know about this, she confronted the accused and a dispute started.
Later, using the data connection kept in his car, Sahil strangles Nikki. After disposing of the victim’s remains, Sahil returned to his home and married another woman.
