Norwegian hit "The Trip" has quite an interesting premise. Married couple Lisa (Noomi Rapace) and Lars (Aksel Hennie) decide to go to a remote cabin under the guise of revitalizing their failing marriage. In a surprising coincidence, both Lisa and Lars have planned to kill their partner on this trip, but the other has no idea. What starts as a dark comedy romp gets even darker quickly when some unexpected visitors appear and prove to be a bigger threat than they are to each other. From famed Scandanavian director Tommy Wirkola, "The Trip" truly is a wild ride.

The pair's chemistry as a fallen-out-of-love husband and wife makes "The Trip" an excellent watch. Trace Thurman of horror film fan site Bloody Disgusting commends their performances, calling them "simply delightful...with each character delivering a hefty amount of passive-aggressive barbs to each other over the smallest things in order to twist the metaphorical knife where it hurts the most." Over at IndieWire, Jude Fry sang the film's praises as well, calling the film "Cheeky and inventive in equal measure, with brilliant performances all around, a whipsmart script and sharp pacing make 'The Trip' one of the most fun watches of the year." Fans are certainly loving the film, too, as it currently boasts a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

If you've ever been so mad at your spouse you thought you were going insane (or if you simply love a good dark comedy horror), you can't go wrong with "The Trip," now streaming on Netflix.
