The early 2000s would mark a time of change for the Olsen twins. In 2004, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would take one final bow together in "New York Minute," which follows Jane (Ashley) and Roxy Ryan (Mary-Kate) as they work through several mishaps while trying to make it to separate destinations. And New York would hold different dreams for the Olsen Twins, specifically, dreams focused on the fashion industry.

In 2006, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would find themselves turning into fashion moguls with the launch of their clothing company The Row, which features high-quality clothes that offer a simplistic look. Ashley told Net-a-Porter that the company began as a side project. She told I-D, "We had just moved to New York. We were 18 years old and I think what we did know was that we wanted to take that time to take a break from what we were previously doing and to explore things that interested us ..."

They've also created other fashion brands, and their empire is given as a reason for Michelle Tanner's absence in "Fuller House," Season 1, Episode 1, "Our Very First Show, Again," which has Danny Tanner (the late Bob Saget) explaining that Michelle cannot be with the family because she is busy in New York.
