The reality television programme “Southern Charm” was created by Bryan Kestner and Whitney Sudler-Smith and is based in Charleston, South Carolina. The show follows a number of the city’s top citizens, giving viewers a glimpse inside their personal and professional life. Numerous characters have entered and/or left the series since its 2014 launch. Fans can’t help but wonder why the people who have left the show left, when it comes to those who have said goodbye.
The presence and absence of Thomas Ravenel from “Southern Charm” has particularly piqued the interest of the viewers. The politician turned reality star has been a member of the programme since its inception. But Thomas left the show after season 5, even though he made a cameo in season 7. Many of his fans are interested in finding out what caused Thomas to leave “Southern Charm” and what he is doing right now. Here is what we do know about the same, though!
Thomas Ravenel Left Southern Charm, Why?
There was definitely drama around Thomas Ravenel’s appearance on “Southern Charm.” The reality star was linked to a number of ladies on the programme, including Kathryn Dennis and Landon Clements. But he left the programme in the midst of a number of scandals and legal troubles. In 2018, a woman by the name of Ashley Perkins alleged that her mother, Debbie Holloway Perkins, had been sexually harassed by Thomas Ravenel. The event allegedly occurred during the two’s date in December 2015 after they met on Tinder.
Ashley, a real estate agent, and Debbie decided to take legal action after the incident. In June 2016, Thomas purportedly settled with Debbie for a sum of about $200,000. “I had seen Thomas’ arrogant face on TV, and I obviously have a lot of resentment for what he did to my mother… Because I’ve heard that Thomas has victimised other women in addition to my mother, I want to warn other women about him, Ashley told US Magazine. She continued by saying that because of Thoams’ impolite behaviour, he ought to be fired from “Southern Chance.” The real estate agent said that her mother did not enjoy watching Thomas on television.
After Ashley made her claim, Thomas’ previous nanny, Dawn, spoke up about her own interactions with the former Treasurer of South Carolina. Dawn reported Thomas for an incident that allegedly occurred in January 2015 on May 7, 2018. According to the investigation, Thomas was the victim of a forced rape and other sexual offences. The reality star turned himself in to South Carolina police in September 2018 in response to a warrant issued in January 2015. In connection with the assault on the nanny, he admitted guilt to third-degree assault and battery. After a $20,000 bail was issued, Thomas was quickly let out of custody. Thomas also paid a $500 fine and gave $80,000 to a foundation that supports victims of sexual assault.
In order to avoid any blunders, the creators of “Souther Charm” were very proactive with regard to the accusations. In a statement to US Magazine on May 4, 2018, Bravo TV stated, “Haymaker, the production company for Southern Charm, and Bravo take claims like these very seriously.” “Haymaker is undertaking an inquiry, and appropriate action will be taken once all the material has been acquired and carefully evaluated.”
Thomas was not pleased with how he was presented on “Southern Charm” after the controversies. He asserted that the contract for the programme permitted them to provide a fictitious account of the facts. Thomas said that the reality show had abused him and that the producers of the programme should not have been allowed to further damage his reputation. Thomas reportedly even made contact with the cast of “Southern Charm” to inform them that he wouldn’t be returning for another season. This assertion was made before Bravo or any other linked outlets had provided any additional information about Thomas’ continued appearance on the programme. Thomas was formally removed from ‘Southern Charm’ for season 6 by Bravo following his incarceration.
Thomas Ravenel is currently where?
Thomas Ravenel seems to have dwindled in public activity after his time on “Southern Charm.” The reality star and his ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis have two kids together. A daughter named Kensington Calhoun Ravenel was the couple’s firstborn, and she was born in March 2014. The son of Thomas and Kathryn Ravenel, St. Julien Rembert Ravenel, was born in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on November 9, 2015. On June 29, 2020, Thomas gave birth to Jonathan Jackson Ravenel with his ex-girlfriend Heather Mascoe.
Thomas appears to be spending a lot of time with his kids and dog, Rufus, as of this writing. Since Thomas Ravenel founded the business in 1992, the reality star has served as the corporation’s president. The business has undertaken a number of significant and little initiatives throughout the years, and as of this writing, appears to be flourishing.
