Unexpected Season 1 ended a long time ago, and this is making fans curious about where the cast members are right now. The series throws light on unexpected teenage pregnancies. TLC had commissioned the series for their channel where we witnessed the issues of being a teen mom or dad while also exploring each of their lives.

Every season, we see three couples who are currently pregnant and are also teenagers. The focus is also laid on how the whole thing affects their families. Obviously, some families are orthodox and do not support the pregnancies at all, or if some do, there are other concerns such as finances as well as preparation to have a baby.

Everyone has their own unique perspective about the couple as well and passes their unsolicited opinions about what is best for the new parents. There are talks of living together, finding a place or a job, or whether or not they should get married. The first season had three couples as well, and here we shall explore what happened to each one of them.

McKayla Adkins and Caelan Morrison

McKayla and Caelan met in high school and were about to have a child together, which was featured on TV. They had a very disorderly and chaotic relationship. At 16 years of age, the couple gave birth to a beautiful son. Later, they got pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter.

At the beginning of 2020, it was reported that the duo had decided to move in together. They were constantly on and off about their relationship. However, things again did not work out for them, and the two broke up. They also had an explosive fight about it all. As for McKayla and the kids, they have moved back in with her grandparents. They have also raised McKayla.

As for her relationship, it is not revealed who she is dating, but she surely is with someone. Also, she has revealed how she is working and selling some of her intimate pics online on an app based on the same. As for Caelan, he has talked about how much he misses the kids and is hoping to have custody of them as a father so he can at least meet with them and establish his legal rights. 

Lexus Scheller and Shayden Massey

Lexus has a daughter who she gave birth to back in 2017. She got pregnant at 15, and the whole journey was documented on the show. As a teenager, it was definitely hard for her to be a mother as well, and that is why she had the unwavering support of her grandma and mom through it all.

The elderly apparently have a lot of experience about it all because they were teen moms as well. It is reported that the trio still lives together. With their support, Lexus was able to complete her high school. Although, Shayden and her are broken up as of now.

There have been numerous posts by Shayden on his social media accounts where he confessed to still being in love with her. Right now, in 2023, he still has his old 2018 pics with Lexus and their child on the feed. He has not posted much since then and is leading a quiet life. It was reported in 2020 that he is about to become a father again, but it is another woman this time. 

Lilly Bennet and James Kennedy

Lilly and James met in high school and dated for a few months. This resulted in her being pregnant, and she gave birth at 16. It was obvious that the relationship between the two was rocky because they really had a child in just a few months, which failed to build a solid foundation of their bond. As for Lilly, she was immensely supported by her mother.

It was later reported in 2020 that Lilly is actually having a second child with her new man named Lawrence Charles Bishop III. As for James, he is not very active in his life on social media, and thus, it is difficult to say what is happening between the two. As far as his relationship with the kid is concerned, he has been a good and devoted father to her.
