Starbucks‘ famous Red Cup Day is back on November 17 and the rules state you have to order a handcrafted holiday drink – but what is that?
The annual promotion sees Starbucks give away thousands of free reusable red cups at stores across America for just one day.
“Order a handcrafted holiday beverage to get your free Starbucks reusable red cup,” the coffee chain said in a press release.

What is a handcrafted holiday drink at Starbucks?
A handcrafted holiday drink simply means a beverage that has been specifically added to the menu for the holiday season.
Every year, Starbucks introduces a winter menu at the start of November that has festive flavors like eggnog, praline and peppermint.
To get a free reusable cup, you must order a drink from the holiday menu, so it can’t just be a normal cappuccino or iced latte.
This year, drinks from the fall menu are included in Red Cup Day too, so you can still get your pumpkin spice fix during the holiday season.

Starbucks Red Cup Day 2022 rules
The rules are simple. Order one of the drinks in the list above on November 17 and you’ll be given a free reusable 16 oz red Starbucks cup.
The promotion continues while supplies last and quantities are limited, so it’s best to head to Starbucks in the morning if you want a free cup.
If you don’t want to leave your house, the giveaway is actually available on orders placed on the Starbucks app and Starbucks Delivery too.
This year’s limited-edition 2022 red cup has cute white stars all over it and is made with 50 percent recycled material.
There is also a message on the back to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Starbucks holiday cups in 2022.
When you bring the cup back into store and ask the server to put your drink in it, you’ll get a $0.10 discount and 25 bonus stars on your Starbucks Rewards.
