Netflix has certainly wasted no time in 2023, has it? The streamer recently released Kaleidoscope, a series that is the first of its kind, inviting audiences to view the episodes in any order whatsoever. With the non-linear show serving as a new addition to the platform, on the other hand, we have a familiar favorite making its eagerly anticipated return at long last too.
Obviously, we’re talking about Ginny And Georgia.
Blending comedy and drama with great skill, Sarah Lampert’s irresistible series first hit streaming back in February 2021 and fans immediately fell in love with the titular characters, played by Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey, respectively.
It was renewed a couple of months after it premiered and season 2 was unveiled on Thursday, January 5th 2023.
While the sight of faces we know is sure to be an initial highlight, a new character is destined to shake things up big time. So, who is Gil in Ginny And Georgia season 2 and who plays him?

Who is and plays Gil in Ginny And Georgia?
Gil Timmins is played by Aaron Ashmore in Ginny And Georgia 2. Although the character debuts in the latest installments, he was, in fact, alluded to in the previous season.
He is Georgia’s ex-boyfriend and Austin’s father.
We discover that he’s been released from prison and now he’s ventured out to Wellsbury to make trouble for Georgia. After meeting his son at school, his motivations for returning unravel. He was inside for embezzlement and, while Georgia has never spoken fondly of him, it turns out she framed him after he became abusive.
Beyond the character, let’s consider the man who portrays him. The 43-year-old Canadian actor has previously showcased his talents in such shows as Veronica Mars (Troy Vandegraff), Killjoys (Johnny Jaqobis), Locke & Key (Duncan Locke), Smallville (Jimmy Olsen), and Skymed (Wheezer).
He’s also been in such movies as The Retreat (James), Regression (George Nesbitt), and The Shrine (Marcus).

‘All of the characters are really complex’
Speaking of fresh characters, whether new or old, the series creator was recently interviewed by Telltale TV about the resistance to writing them off so clearly:
“I think what the show does so beautifully is it doesn’t really stick a good or bad sticker on anyone’s forehead. All of the characters are really complex. All the characters are multifaceted. In some moments, they’re the good guy. In some moments, they’re the bad guy.”
She added: “And I think that that’s especially true of both Ginny and Georgia. They’re really dynamic, messy women.”
Ginny And Georgia is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
