Koch became president of the secondary Koch Engineering in 1979 and became a co-owner of Koch Industries in 1983.
He also served as an executive VP (vice president) of Koch Industries until he retired due to health issues in 2018.
Unfortunately, David Koch passed away on 23 August 2019 at his house in Southampton, New York at the age of 79.
