Hyacinth Alia (Born: 14 May 1966; Age: 56 Years Old), or Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Ph.D. CSSp is a priest from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gboko in the priestly Province of Abuja in Nigeria.
Hyacinth is the Governorship Candidate in Benue State on the manifesto of the APC (All Progressives Congress) for the 2023 Gubernatorial Election, and on 18 March 2023, Benue State make history again as di pipo elect Catholic priest – Reverend Father as dia governor during di 2023 Governorship elections.

Hyacinth Alia or Hyacinth Iormem Alia was born into a Tiv family of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Katsina Alia from Mbangur, Mbadede in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria.
Hyacinth Alia was born on 14 May 1966, At present, he is 56 years old.
Hyacinth attended St. Francis Primary School, and later he went to Agidi, Mbatiav in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, where he received his General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1983.
Later, he took admitted to St. Augustine’s Major Seminary, Jos where he received a Diploma in Religious Studies in 1987 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome in 1990.
Hyacinth proceeded to Fordham University for a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Education (Psychology and Counseling) in 1999.
In 2004, Hyacinth studied at Duquesne University, Pennsylvania for his 2nd Master of Arts Degree, this time in Biomedical Ethics, and went on to receive a Doctorate Degree in Biomedical Ethics in 2005.
In his pastoral career, Alia has served in many places locally and in the diaspora acquiring essential experiences that ready him to serve God and humanity in different spheres of society and human existence.
He was appointed a priest on 7 July 1990 for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Makurdi before he was moved to the Catholic Diocese of Gboko – his current home Diocese.
In the service of parish work, Revd. Fr. Alia has served variously as:

- Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Makurdi
