Chaundre Cross: What happened to Sarah Jo Cross, the Florida doctor’s missing wife?

The likelihood of locating a well-known Florida cancer researcher and physician who has been missing in the Gulf of Mexico for more than a week is decreasing.

According to investigators, on August 10, Dr. Chaundre Cross, 49, and his 33-foot boat Vitamin Sea were last seen leaving Naples Bay Marina.

The following day, the Coast Guard said in a statement that they found Dr. Cross’ boat adrift in the water 16 miles south of Sanibel Island, off the coast of Fort Myers.

Where Is Chaundre Cross After Leaving Naples Bay Resort—Dead Or Alive?

Dr. Cross has been missing for days. He was seen departing Naples Bay & Marina on his boat. The following day, his ship was found, but the doctor was nowhere to be found.

The likelihood of Cross’s survival has lessened, and as no trace of his body has been discovered, it is hard to determine whether he is still alive or dead.

A two-and-a-half day search of more than 13,000 square miles of ocean, which involved leasing a Jayhawk helicopter, Hercules fixed-wing aircraft, two police boats, and a “fleet of private vessels,” was reportedly called off on Sunday. The doctor was reportedly not discovered (August 14).

Stopping a search and rescue effort “is never simple,” said St. Petersburg Coast Guard Captain Michael Kahle.

We offer Dr. Cross’s family and friends our greatest sympathy and condolences during this difficult time.
