There's an amusing bit of dialogue in "Thor: Ragnarok" when Thor first meets Korg, a member of the Kronan people. Korg introduces himself by saying, "I'm made of rocks, as you can see. But don't let that intimidate you. You don't need to be afraid unless you're made of scissors." It's a quick little "rock, paper, scissors" joke that firmly establishes Korg's offbeat sense of humor. And fortunately for fans, it seems they didn't forget about that motif going into "Love and Thunder."
As pointed out by Redditor u/KvasirsBlod, there's a subtle "rock, paper, scissors" joke in the latest Thor adventure, but you have to look carefully when the crew goes to Omnipotence City. The user noticed, "That Kronan god sitting on an iron throne made of all the scissors the rocks have beaten." Plenty of other people caught onto the joke, such as u/RandomDanny, who wrote, "I had a good laugh at the scissors throne implying the rock guys had beaten them." It's a good thing there weren't any paper gods in the city, or else the Kronans would've likely found themselves in a touch of trouble.
The gag does more than elicit a chuckle. It also suggests there's a rich history with Korg that's yet to be explored in the MCU, and Taika Waititi shared his thoughts with Geek Culture on where else the rock creature could go moving forward. When speaking on the prospect of which character would do best in a spin-off, Waititi responded, "Well, if it was gonna be a spin-off of Thor's universe it would be Korg. I think it'd be fun to see Korg trying to fit in on Earth. Korg in Los Angeles and trying to make it as an actor!" While that's unlikely to happen, hopefully Thor's return to the MCU will allow us to see more of Korg, as well.
