Groundhog Day is here and it is time to know if there will be six more weeks of winter or if we can expect spring’s early arrival.
The annual festival observed on February 2 in North America and Canada traces its roots back to a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition.
The myth says if the groundhog emerging from its hole sees its shadow due to clear weather and retreats to its den, we will experience six more weeks of winter.

However, if he doesn’t see his shadow, spring will arrive soon.
Every year, people gather in large crowds at Punxsutawney in western Pennsylvania for The Groundhog Day ceremony centering on a semi-mythical groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil.
However, if you can’t attend the ceremony in person, you can still celebrate the occasion with these hilarious memes from Twitter.

Unless you can pull off a different expression
Not everyone’s as thrilled but
Here’s how you can celebrate the festival on February 2nd
If the winter is getting to you and stepping out of home is a task, you can celebrate Groundhog Day at the comfort of your home by watching Bill Murray’s 1993 movie of the same name.
There is also a Groundhog Day song that you can sing on the occasion.
And, to make it more fun, you can throw a Groundhog Day-themed party for friends and have them dress up as groundhogs.
Twitter celebrates the occasion
Here are some tweets that reflect people’s excitement for Groundhog Day as they indulge in the celebration.
One tweeted: “I always get excited for Groundhog Day idc, I love it, it’s a good little cute little early of the year holiday book mark”
Another added: “There may be a snowstorm happening right now, but that doesn’t stop me from being excited for GROUNDHOG DAY TOMORROW”
