WAP stands for “Wrapped As Playlist” and here’s how you can find your top songs for the year.
Your Spotify Wrapped playlist for The Tormented Year Of 2020 is ready!
If it wasn’t for Spotify Wrapped, I’d probably still believe it was March. But another year is coming to a close (praise be) and Music Streaming Christmas is upon us. The 2020 version of Spotify Wrapped is now live for most users and you can find your curated playlist on the Spotify App and online. This is quick wrap up to help guide you through the process.
Spotify Wrapped has become an annual institution that gives you a look back at exactly what you hooked up to your earholes over the last 12 months. Most of us have spent 10-12 months inside our homes and apparently, we’ve been listening to a lot of The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights. That one was streamed 1.6 billion times. I’d say that’s enough for a Grammy nomination?
It was all hands on deck for Spotify this year, too — they’ve pulled out podcast rankings showing recently acquired Joe Rogan Experience is Numero Uno on the podcasts list, followed closely by TED Talks Daily and New York Times The Daily. If you start a podcast called The Daily Experience I think you might be onto something. In all seriousness, it shows a subtle shift towards informative news podcasts in the face of the pandemic and another interesting little stat is the early morning hours was the most popular time to listen.
Me? I enjoy a little podcast by the fireside to end the day. It’s safe to say I am probably the biggest Protest The Hero fan this side of the Pacific Ocean, according to my own list. Alright, I’ve kept you waiting long enough. Everything you need is below.
How to find your Spotify Wrapped
If you want to get in on the Wrapped action, you just need to head to the Spotify Wrapped site and log in to your Spotify account. It’s that easy. Then you get a PowerPoint-type slide show which well tell you which music you feasted on this year, how many minutes you spent listening to certain artists and an infographic about your top songs.
My picks are GOOD. As yours will be. Unless you’ve been subject to thousands of hours of Baby Shark (is that still a thing in 2020?) or The Wiggles courtesy of your little ones.
Entertain your brain with the coolest news from streaming to superheroes, memes to video games.
Beyond just getting your stats, you’ll also find a curated playlist of your top 100 tracks of the year in Spotify. There’s a couple of ways to do it:
- Go to the Spotify Wrapped site online and punch in your login details. You’ll be able to open the playlist of your top songs (in order), your Missed Hits and “On Record” which is a mix of songs and artists and podcasts you might like. It really is that simple.
- If you access via browser from your mobile you’ll get the nice little visual rundown of the year. As of now, the desktop version just sends you straight to your playlists.
Your playlist on desktop.
Spotify
- Or head to the Spotify mobile app, go to “Search” and you’ll find the “Wrapped 2020” card, ready to go under “uniquely yours.” Spotify is taking a little time to roll this one out, so if you don’t see your playlist in the mobile app right now, a little patience!
The best advice? Mobile browser — you can add the playlist to your library that way. Or just access the Spotify Wrapped site from desktop and “Save” the playlist by clicking on the heart. Then, you can jump into “Your Library” on the Spotify app and it will be there, under playlists.
Too easy, happy listening, Merry Ear Christmas, good riddance 2020!

Not even 2020 could stop this tradition.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and no, we’re not just talking about the holidays. Now that it is finally December, that means Spotify has blessed us with another year of it’s highly anticipated Wrapped playlist. Every single year, Spotify Wrapped gives us a view on our listening habits over the past year and lets us know who our top artists are and what songs we were obsessed with. Thankfully, they also create the ultimate playlist of all our top songs of the year that we get to listen to long after 2020 is over.
Curious to see who made it to the top of your playlist? Here’s how to get your own Spotify Wrapped playlist.
On Mobile or Tablets:
If you have the Spotify app installed, then it’s super easy to find your Wrapped. You should be able to find it once you open the app on your homepage. However, if you can’t find it there, you can always head off to the search page, head down to “made for you” and you should spot it there.
On desktop or without the app:
Luckily, Spotify made it super easy to check out your Wrapped without having to have the app downloaded. You can head to the official Spotify Wrapped page where you can log in to get all your big 2020 listening info.
When you’re all done, don’t forget to share your listening habits on your social media to see how you compare with your BFFs and others you follow. Curious on how it would look like? Check out my very own Spotify Wrapped below:

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the days when we find out our Spotify Wrapped results for 2020. Already, social media is flooded with people sharing their most listened to songs, albums, and artists, and you can get in on the delightfully self-indulgent fun pretty easily.
So, how to view your Spotify Wrapped? For some users, the 2020 Wrapped slideshow will pop up automatically on mobile, but you can also find it on your home page, or search “Your Top Songs 2020” in the app; you can see the desktop version at This year, Spotify even made a version for non-users, showing some of the most streamed music in 2020 globally — spoiler: Bad Bunny is at the top, as is The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”
The streaming service has also rolled out new kinds of data this year, including quizzes to test your self-awareness and extended info about your top song. For me, that was Agust D’s “People,” a song I listened to starting on May 22, streamed most often on June 17, and finally wrapped for a total of 276 plays during Spotify’s eligibility period (reportedly January through sometime in October). If you’re a Spotify Premium user, you’ll also get a badge that says Tastemaker (“X of your playlists gained X new followers,” according to Spotify), Pioneer (“You listened to X song before it hit 50,000 streams”) or Collector (“You added X number of songs to playlists this year”).
Once you’ve found all of your (potentially embarrassing) habits and coping mechanisms from this horrible year, it’s time to take that info to the masses. People are already debating the merits of sharing your Spotify data on Instagram and Twitter, under the assumption that pretty much no one besides you cares. But isn’t that all of social media anyway? So I hereby give you permission to share freely and brag widely — and if you’re in the top .001% of an artist’s listeners, I salute you.

As we get ready to close the door on this bizarre year, Spotify is taking one last glance back at 2020—and the music and podcasts that helped us through it.
The annual wrap-up—available to everyone, Spotify user or not—has gone full 2020 with a slate of new features, including quizzes, badges, and personalized playlists. Test your skills by predicting your most-streamed content this year, follow your top song’s journey through the year (from its first stream to its 100th), and uncover the most binge-worthy podcast of 2020.
Premium users can also earn badges for being a trendsetter, musical pioneer, or song hoarder. And inside the Spotify app, you can get a look at your personalized #SpotifyWrapped for 2020 by tapping Search and scrolling down to 2020 Wrapped. Then, tap “See how you listened in 2020,” which will open a Stories-like view of your 2020 listening habits.
“As usual, this year’s Wrapped is full of insights on the artists, songs, genres, and podcasts that defined your listening in 2020,” a company blog post said. “And it’s created from data unique to each and every listener.”
For those who aren’t already sick of the same tunes you’ve heard all year, Spotify has compiled personalized playlists, from Your Top Songs to Missed Hits—2020 releases you didn’t listen to, but are similar to the ones you did. The On Record mixed media experience, meanwhile, highlights your favorite artists of the year. The best part: You don’t have to be a Spotify subscriber to tap into the latest global listening trends. For the first time ever, the firm is opening Wrapped to non-users, inviting everyone to join the conversation about our year in streaming.
