Major life, social, or political events tend to make people and pages on Facebook post more often. The events might even skew the posts that are made so that they’re not about the topic that originally interested you when you liked a page. You can always unlike or unfollow, or unfriend people and pages but Facebook has a better solution; use a snooze button. There’s a new feature rolling out to Facebook users that let you snooze a Facebook page or person for 30 days. You can end the snooze period early if you want but there are no customization options for how long the snooze period can be.
You can snooze people and pages from Facebook web and from the Facebook apps.
Snooze – Facebook Web
Go to your home tab on Facebook and scroll through your feed. When you see something from a friend or a page that makes you not want to hear from them for 30 days, click the little dropdown arrow next to the post. You will see a new Snooze for 30 days option. Click it. You will be able to undo the action right away if it’s an accident.
End Snooze – Facebook Web
The snooze period will end automatically after 30 days however you can always end the snooze period early if you want. To do that, visit the page or profile that you snoozed. You will see a ‘Snoozed’ button. Click it and select the ‘End Snooze’ option. It will tell you how many days are left before the snooze period automatically ends.
Snooze – Facebook App
The process is the same on Facebook apps; go to your home feed and scroll through it until you find something that you could stand to see none of for 30 days. Tap the dropdown arrow and select the Snooze for 30 days option.
End Snooze – Facebook App
To end the snooze period early, visit the profile or page that you snoozed and look for the Snooze button. Tap it and select the End Snooze option.
There doesn’t seem to be any way to view which pages and profiles you’ve snoozed on Facebook. You will have to remember them yourself or you’ll have to wait for the snooze period to expire before posts from them return to your feed. The snooze option is for posts but it will also apply to notifications for the page or profile. For example, if you snooze a friend on Facebook, you will not see posts from them in your feed but you will also not get notifications when they go live or update their status. If you don’t see the snooze option just yet, give it a few weeks and it ought to appear.

I don’t have the option to snooze. I have clicked the little 3 dot in the upper right of a post, and I see all the options but snooze. Why is this?

Until now, there was no way to temporarily remove someone from your News Feed on Facebook. You could Block or Unfollow someone, but this was a permanent solution. If you wanted to see their posts again, you’d need to deliberately go back and unblock or refollow them.
Recently, Facebook introduced Snooze, a feature that lets you hide someone from your News Feed for 30 days. This is perfect for the times that your friends (or a Page you follow) are getting a little bit spammy. Examples might include when they’re on holidays or trying to get you to vote for them in a competition—no Justin, I will not vote for you for Canada’s Next Top Apologist. After the 30 days are up, the person you snoozed will appear in your News Feed again.
At the moment, the only way to Snooze a person or Page is from one of their posts in your News Feed. When a post by the person or Page you want to Snooze pops up, tap or click the three little dots in the top right corner, and then choose the “Snooze XXX for 30 Days” option.
The post will vanish from your News Feed, and you won’t see any more posts from that person for the next 30 days. The person won’t know you’ve done anything, so you don’t have to worry about offending people when you Snooze them.
If you decide you’ve been too rash and want to un-Snooze someone, visit their Profile, and then tap or click the “Snoozed” setting. You’ll see how long they have left on Snooze, and you can select “End Snooze” to end it immediately.
Before the Snooze period ends, you’ll get a notification from Facebook. That way you can decide to Snooze them again, go with a more permanent Unfollowing, or let them back in your News Feed.
In this post you will see what Facebook snooze is and the steps to snooze or unsnooze someone.
In this case I use Windows 10 PC, Android and iPhone. Let’s get started. Advertisements
What is Facebook’s Snooze
This feature prevents updates from a specific person, page or group from appearing in your news feed for 30 days.

This is slightly difficult to perform as you cannot keep

The method is quite simple and easy and you just need to follow the simple step by step guide discussed below to proceed.
Steps to Snooze Someone for 30 Days on Facebook:
#1 The first thing that we would say here before starting with the method is that all you will require doing is execute the one single step. For that purpose please log into the facebook by using your credentials. Either you can use the facebook app for this purpose or desktop for the very thing. This will only provide you the option on the screen for making the posts for someone snooze for 30 days on the news feed.
#2 Once you are logged into the facebook all you need to do is scroll down the news feed and look for the post by some preferred user for whom you wish to snooze the posts. Stop there and on the post by the particular user just click on the three-dot menu. There will be a list of options that will appear on the screen. Through the options inside the list choose the option named Snooze for 30 minutes.
#3 Now this does mean that if you have made someone snooze over the facebook for 30 minutes then at some instant you could also require making the appearance of posts alive. By the above steps you made the facebook person snooze, now we will tell you the method to delete the snooze filtration. Go to the profile of the person which you has snoozed, inside there select the option Snoozed and then from there tap on the option End Snooze.

#4 Soon after making the changes you will see that the posts from the person shall start to appear on the news feed. That’s all about the method and we have explained both of the ways to stop and start the snooze function on the facebook. If you have earlier Unfollowed and Snoozed Facebook Friends, Groups, and Pages, here is how you can find that list and reconnect with them. Here is how you can undo unfollow a person, group, or page on Facebook using the Reconnect option.
On Facebook, you can follow a profile, page, and group to get the latest notifications according to your requirements. However, if a profile or page publishes lots of posts every day, and that is enough to get annoyed, you can unfollow or snooze a profile. If you snooze a profile, you won’t get unfriended, but you won’t get any notifications from that profile for 30 days. Similarly, you can unfollow a page, which allows you to get the latest posts only by opening the page. If you have done it earlier, but now you want to Reconnect with the page or profile or group, here is how you can do that.
Find Unfollowed & Snoozed Facebook Friends, Groups & Pages
To find all Unfollowed and Snoozed Facebook Friends, Groups, and Pages, follow these steps:
- Open the Facebook website and log into your account.
- Click on the arrow visible in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings & privacy > News feed preferences.
- Click on the Reconnect option.
- Find the profile, page, or group and start following.
- Click on the Snooze option.
- Find a snoozed person and click on the clock icon.
To learn more about these steps, keep reading.
At first, open the Facebook website and log into your account. After that, you can find an arrow icon visible on the top-right corner of your screen. Click on it and select Settings & privacy > News feed preferences.
Now you can find a popup window on your screen. Click on the Reconnect option to find all the unfollowed Facebook profiles, pages, and groups. IF you want to see only pages or groups, click on the drop-down menu, and select the option, respectively.
Next, you can click the follow icon visible next to a profile or page, or group to start following.
To find all the snoozed profiles, groups, and pages, you have to re-open the News feed preferences popup window and go to the Snooze section.
Now select a profile, page, or group to un-snooze and click on the clock icon.
How do I follow someone again after unfollowing him/her?
Facebook lets you unfollow and re-follow a profile, page, and group without using any additional service or contacting support. If you have done it mistakenly, you can follow the same aforementioned steps to follow someone again after unfollowing him/her. You have to use the Reconnect feature of Facebook to follow an unfollowed person. The best thing is that you can find the same option on the Facebook website and mobile app.
How do I unsnooze a friend on Facebook?
To unsnooze a friend on Facebook, you have to go to Settings & privacy > News feed preferences > Snooze. Here you can find all the friends, pages, and groups you have snoozed earlier. Next, you can find the snoozed person and click on the clock icon.
Does Facebook automatically unfollow friends?
No – if you snooze a person, Facebook doesn’t unfollow that friend. It just stops showing their posts on your News Feed.
Yes – if you unfriend a person, Facebook automatically unfollows them.
How many times can you snooze someone on Facebook?
As of now, there are no specific times you can snooze a profile, group, or page on Facebook. Once the 30 days period is over, you can snooze them again for the next 30 days. Even if you unsnooze a person, you can snooze him again.
That’s all! This is how you can unsnooze or follow a person again on Facebook.
If you think unfriending them is a little too harsh.

There’s likely at least one person you’re friends with on Facebook that you hate seeing posts from
But as annoying as they can be, you probably don’t hate them enough to wanna unfriend or block them.
So here’s a new solution: Facebook has just launched a new feature that allows you to mute content from people for 30 days
It comes in the form of a ‘snooze button’ which you can use to hide posts from people, pages or groups.
With Snooze, you can temporarily silence a particular person or group without them ever knowing
“Seeing too many photos of your uncle’s new cat? Is your friend tempting you with endless photos of ramen on her Japan trip? It turns out, you’re not alone,” Facebook’s Product Manager wrote in a blog post.
“With Snooze, you don’t have to unfollow or unfriend permanently, rather just stop seeing someone’s posts for a short period of time.”
To access the feature, just tap the three dots at the top right of any post and choose the ‘Snooze’ option
Once Snoozed, any new content from them won’t show up on your News Feed for 30 days. However, you’ll still remain friends with them or be part of that group or page. Facebook will notify you when a ‘Snooze period’ is about to end so you can even choose to hit ‘Snooze’ continuously every 30 days. If you change your mind however, you can undo a Snooze at any time.
What do you think of this feature? Would you use it? Let us know in the comments below!
The Snooze option lets you temporarily unfollow someone. People, Pages, and groups won’t be notified that you’ve Snoozed them.
Annoyed with certain friends on Facebook lately? Well, now you can temporarily mute them.
With “Snooze,” you can hide friends, pages, or groups from appearing on your News Feed for 30 days. Starting today, access the Snooze option by clicking on the “…” icon found on the top-right of any Facebook post.
“The people, Pages, and groups you snooze will not be notified,” the company said in a blog post. “You will be notified before the Snooze period is about to end and the setting can also be reversed at any time.”
Facebook said users have been calling for a Snooze option for some time; it’s hoping the new feature will create a more positive user experience, joking in a video that Snooze can screen out annoying cat videos from your friend. Rival Twitter has had a mute features since 2014.
Snooze comes as Facebook is facing some very serious questions about its effect on society and public discourse. In recent weeks, two former company executives have expressed concern over the social network’s impact on children’s brains. One of the former executives, Chamath Palihapitiya, even said social media is ruining society.
“People need to hard break from some of these tools,” he said. “The short-term dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works.”
Facebook pushed back, saying it’s become a socially conscious company in recent years. But on Friday, Facebook researchers acknowledged that they too think about the issue. “With people spending more time on social media, many rightly wonder whether that time is good for us,” Facebook’s director of research, David Ginsberg, wrote in a separate blog post.
Past research has indicated smartphones and social media may increase feelings of loneliness and depression, while other studies have shown the technology is merely used by people to pass the time, he said.
The company’s own research has found social media certainly has pros and cons. When people passively consume information—like reading the posts over Facebook News Feed, but never interacting with them— they can feel worse. Why this can happen isn’t clear, but researchers think that reading about others online may compel you to negatively compare your life to theirs, Ginsberg wrote.
The good news is that when people actively interact with their friends on social media, like sharing posts, or making comments, they feel better about themselves.
Facebook’s new Snooze option will probably help users in screening out content they don’t like, in favor for posts they may actually interact with. “We’re working to make Facebook more about social interaction and less about spending time,” Ginsberg added.

Some Facebook friends and relatives can be quite annoying, but you can’t simply unfriend them. What if you want to stay in contact but don’t want to see their annoying posts? Here’s how to mute someone on Facebook.
Facebook gives you two options here: You can temporarily Snooze someone’s posts for 30 days (to see if you would really miss their presence), or you can unfollow them to mute their posts permanently. Don’t worry; both changes are reversible. The person won’t be informed that you muted them, either.
How to Mute Someone on Facebook
The process of muting a person or a page is the same for Facebook’s website and mobile apps. We’ll be using the Facebook mobile app to guide you through the process. (Here’s how to get access to the new interface with dark mode.)
First, scroll through your news feed and find a post from the Facebook user that you want to mute.
Here, tap the “Menu” button from the top-right corner of the post.
Now, if you want to temporarily mute a person or a page for 30 days, tap the “Snooze (Name) For 30 days” button.
If you want to mute a person and hide that individual’s posts from your feed, tap the “Unfollow (Name)” button.
You can also unfollow someone from that person’s profile page. On the profile page, select the “Friends” button.
From the list, tap the “Unfollow” button.
How to Unmute Someone on Facebook
After 30 days, Facebook will automatically unmute someone that you had snoozed. However, you can unmute someone without waiting, or choose to follow their posts again.
The process here is different for the Facebook website and mobile apps.
On the Facebook website, click the “Menu” button from the top toolbar, and select the “Settings & Privacy” option.
Here, click the “News Feed Preferences” option.
From the popup, click the “Reconnect” option.
Here, click the “Follow” button next to the user you want to unmute.
From the News Feed Preferences popup, select the “Snooze” option to see all the users that you have muted temporarily.
Click the “Snooze” icon next to their name to end the Snooze early for the Facebook user.
On your mobile app, tap the “Menu” button. Here, from the “Settings & Privacy” option, select the “Settings” button.
Now, scroll all the way down and select the “News Feed Preferences” option.
Here, tap the “Reconnect With People You’ve Unfollowed” option.
The simply tap a Facebook user to follow them again.
From the “News Feed Preferences” option, you can choose the “Manage Your Snooze Settings” option to unmute someone.
Here, simply tap the “End Snooze” button next to the user’s name.
Don’t want to use Facebook anymore? You can always delete your Facebook account.

A sad truth of Facebook: many of us follow people who annoy us pretty frequently. Rather than going through the social pain of un-friending someone, however, Facebook has offered the option to stay friends with someone but mute all of their posts in your News Feed. Today, Facebook is rolling out a similar feature that’s a little less severe — you can “snooze” friends, groups or pages for 30 days by clicking the drop-down menu on a post. It’s a smart addition; Facebook itself says that many people want to stop seeing posts from people, but only for a temporary amount of time. Imagine having a friend whose vacation pictures are giving you serious FOMO, or you just need a break from your crazy uncle’s MAGA rants (you might be better off unfollowing him entirely, but the choice is now up to you).
While Facebook still relentlessly uses its algorithms to show posts in your News Feed, there’s at least a decent amount of customization users can do here. Besides snoozing and unfollowing friends, you can also pick specific pages or friends that’ll show updates at the top of your feed when you visit, or hide a post if you get sick of it popping in your feed. Of course, life would be easier if we all felt more comfortable just unfriending people we got tired of on Facebook, but one step at a time.
Facebook tested out this temporary unfollow option earlier in the year, but today it should be available to all users.
