The greatest strength of "My Senpai is Annoying" is that the show has some unique takes on both romance and slice-of-life anime. This is all thanks, at least in part, to its setting. While the workplace has been explored by other anime such as "Aggretsuko," "My Senpai is Annoying" comes at it with a fresh premise to make things more interesting.
The show follows Futaba Igarashi, a low-ranking and diminutive (much to her chagrin, she is tiny enough to be mistaken for a child) office worker who dedicates herself to climbing the ranks at her job. Igarashi is hardworking to say the least, but she is often distracted by her higher-ranking Senpai, Harumi Takeda. Towering over Igarashi, the massive Takeda seems to inspire nothing but annoyance from his comically small counterpart. Despite this apparent distaste, however, Igarashi soon finds herself developing feelings for Takeda. Love can be a crazy thing like that, but only time will tell if Igarashi's growing affections lead anywhere meaningful.
