Finally, season 3 of action-packed Prime Video series Jack Ryan is here. It has been three years since viewers last got a glimpse into the CIA analyst’s gripping world. With the dramatic return of the political thriller, fans are itching to know more, from where it was filmed to what this new season might entail.
Exclusive to the Amazon streaming service, Jack Ryan is an American political thriller based on the best-selling Tom Clancy novels. Season 1 introduced audiences to Dr Jack Ryan as a shocking discovery pulled him away from his desk job and into a whole load of explosive trouble.
As season 3 has finally made its way to Prime, audiences greet Ryan once again, this time as the CIA analyst faces allegations of treason. Ryan (played by John Krasinski) must run from his own government, hiding until he can prove his innocence.
From Prague to Budapest, many scenes were shot on location, with lots of the European countries featuring alongside the main plot of Ryan on the run. So where exactly was Jack Ryan season 3 filmed?

All of the filming locations for Jack Ryan season 3 are in Europe, with many of the scenes shot on location. Production began in May 2021.
Kicking off in Rome, the start of the series showcases the titular character working in Italy’s capital city. Rome plays a major role at the start of season 3 as it is where Jack Ryan uncovers more than he bargains for and ends up on the run from his former colleagues.

It seems fans were beyond excited to see their favorite CIA analyst get back to work in Italy.
The center of Prague made an important feature in the third series, too. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. One of the main sequences was shot in the city center, making a beautiful and tense backdrop for the thriller.
Director Jann Turner took to Instagram to showcase a rainy day of filming for the Prime series:
Various parts of Greece feature in the latter half of season 3. Some scenes of Jack Ryan were filmed in Greater Athens, as well as on the lovely Greek island of Santorini.
Budapest, the capital of Hungary, also features in the series. A small island located on the Danube river called Margaret Island provides a significant setting for certain scenes.
IMDb, meanwhile, reports Austrian capital Vienna also features as a backdrop for some scenes in season 3.
With such an impressive and broad list of filming locations, it’s no wonder fans are excited to recognize the beautiful backdrops.
