In November of 2018, Grace Millane, a university graduate from the University of Lincoln in England, was travelling in New Zealand when she vanished without a trace.
The fact that Millane’s parents reported her missing three days after she failed to respond to the birthday pleasantries they gave her on December 2, 2018, heightening their fears, prompted the police to begin an inquiry into her disappearance and locate her.
In a second interview with the police, the man who is suspected of killing Grace Millane asserts that the British traveller passed away as a result of an accident following a voluntary suffocation. The jury in Auckland was informed of the contents of this interview.

The body of Grace Millane was found squished and cramped inside a suitcase that had been partially buried in the ground.
The body of the British visitor was discovered in the Waitakere Ranges, which are located close to Auckland, New Zealand. The body was naked and curled up like a foetal position.

Jesse Shane Kempson, who was 26 years old at the time, was taken into custody on December 8. He had been staying at the CityLife Hotel in the city of Auckland. In the Auckland District Court on the 10th of December, 2018, Kempson was charged on the charges that he was responsible for Millane’s murder.
The trial of Kempson took place at the Auckland High Court in the month of November 2019. He was subsequently handed a life sentence with a minimum non-parole period of 17 years after being found guilty by a jury of their own accord following a trial that lasted about three weeks.
The reaction of the New Zealand population to the news of Millane’s passing was unprecedented. In front of the gathering on December 10, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern expressed her regret on behalf of New Zealand to Millane’s family and said, “I want to express sadness on New Zealand’s behalf.”
The community that Millane was a part of at the University of Lincoln, where she received her education, shared their “deep sadness” over her passing.

ITV premiered their new crime series, titled Social Media Murders, in November 2021. The series was based on an investigation into three terrible real-life murder cases.
Each episode, which is broadcast on consecutive evenings, focuses on actual incidents that resulted in the deaths of young people and examines the disquieting role that social media had in connecting the criminal and the victim.
The first episode, which was shown on November 15, 2021, relates the story of the tragic death of Grace Millane, a British tourist who went missing in Auckland in 2018 while on a Tinder date. Grace was 22 years old at the time of her disappearance.
Six weeks after their first interaction over social media, an eight-year-old named Matthew Mason is shown in the second episode, titled “The Murder of Alex Rodda,” shooting and killing a teenage boy named Alex Rodda, who was fifteen years old.
The third episode of “American Murder: The Family Next Door” on Netflix covers the murder case of Molly McLaren, age 23, who was slain in 2018 by her ex-boyfriend Joshua Stimpson. The episode comes from the producers of “American Murder: The Family Next Door.” A look at a romance that began with the two of them meeting on the dating app Tinder.
Grace Millane Story And Dateline, What Happened?
Millane travelled to New Zealand for a total of two weeks after returning from a stay of six weeks in South America. On November 20, 2018, she arrived in New Zealand, and she travelled throughout the northern part of the North Island.
The 30th of November saw her arrive in Auckland. On December 1 at approximately 9:00 p.m., she was spotted in the central business district of Auckland, and approximately 15 minutes later, she was caught on video at SkyCity. At 9:41 o’clock in the evening, she was spotted along with Jesse Kempson at the CityLife Hotel on Queen Street.
According to later reports, the victim was strangled by her killer, who was also her Tinder date, and she passed away as a result of the anguish. After that, he placed her into a large suitcase bag before finally burying her. Millane’s dead body was discovered on December 9 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon off Scenic Drive in the Waitakere Ranges.
