David Carter, who seemed to have everything going for him, disappeared without a trace at the end of 2018.
As the investigation went on, the young man’s family and friends learned with sadness that he would never come back. David had been brutally killed, and his body parts had been dumped along a highway. The Netflix show “Unsolved Mysteries: Body in Bags” is about David’s case and includes an interview with Samia Conner, DJ’s mother. So, here’s what we know about her if you want to find out more.
What is her name?
At the time of the incident in 2018, Samia Conner and David Carter Sr. had known each other for a long time. She said on the show that she liked David from the first time she saw him. Samia thought he was funny, and soon after that, they started hanging out and then started dating. Samia was 19 years old at the time, and David was probably around 20. Soon after, David Carter Jr. came into the world. AKA DJ, when they were younger. She thought back to how happy David was at the time.
Between 2000 and 2014, Samia and David kept getting back together and breaking up. But even though they weren’t together, they were still close and committed to raising DJ as co-parents. After that, the show says, David was in many relationships. Since March 2018, he has been with Tamera “Tammy” Williams. Six months later, when he was still with her, he just up and left.
Samia said on the show that September 30, 2018, would be like any other day. DJ was at her place and was going to go to his dad’s when she got a text from David. He told Samia he wasn’t feeling well and that he didn’t think DJ should come home. DJ stopped by anyway because he needed to pick up something. DJ never met his father, but he remembered that Tammy was there when it happened.
In the days that followed, David didn’t go to work, so his family called to see how he was doing. The door to the apartment was unlocked, and Samia pulled back the comforter in the bedroom to see what looked like blood on the mattress and a hole on top of it. As soon as David’s family realized something was wrong, they told the police that he was missing. In the weeks that followed, the police found parts of David’s body along an interstate highway in Eagle Township, Ohio.
Samia had last seen David on September 28, 2018, at their son’s football game. She talked about how Tammy had been staring at her the whole time on the show. Later, Samia thought that Tammy knew what had happened to David, but when she was freed, she ran away because she didn’t have any proof. Because of this, Samia and the rest of David’s family have kept hoping that the case will be solved.

What is Samia Conner doing now?
Samia Conner said on the show that she never goes a day without thinking about David. She often wondered how proud he would have been of everything DJ had done since then. Samia seems to be doing a lot better today. She is in a relationship and lives in Detroit, Michigan. She also takes care of her children.
Samia is the Training Lead for Digital Connected Services at General Motors, which is her job. She has a degree in Communication and Media Arts. She also went to Eastern Michigan University to study Administrative Management. Samia likes to travel and follows her son’s football games very closely.

Today, three episodes of the show came out on the streaming service. The third one was about the murder of David Carter, a father from Michigan whose body was found in pieces in a sleeping bag after he went missing in 2018.
Carter’s case is a new mystery that will break people’s hearts. A person of interest is on the run, and Carter’s family wants answers.
Here’s everything you need to know about David Carter, what happened to him, and who the police are looking for in connection with his murder.
What’s David Carter’s name?
David Carter Sr was a father who lived in Melvindale, Michigan, and was 39 years old. His body was found on October 1, 2018, but it was in pieces.
Carter, who worked at the Magna Seating Plant and volunteered with the Melvindale Junior Football League, was reported missing in the first week of October 2018 after he missed three days of work.
Carter and his whole family, including DJ’s mother Samia Conner, went to his son’s football game on September 28. He was there with his girlfriend of six months, travel agent and medical center worker Tamera “Tammy” Williams. However, according to Conner, David and Tammy didn’t stay together at the game.

How did David Carter get hurt?
In the Netflix documentary, it is said that Carter’s son DJ went to his father’s house on September 30 to get some things after his mother Samia Conner got a text from Carter’s phone saying that he was sick.
DJ reportedly saw Carter’s girlfriend Tammy taking out the trash when he went to his father’s house.
DJ told Unsolved Mysteries that she ran to the apartment door. “When I got to my dad’s house, the door was locked. You’d think she would have left it open since she’d seen me, but I had a key.”
DJ said that his bedroom door was closed, and Williams allegedly told him that Carter had gone for a walk after closing the bathroom door.
Carter didn’t come to work on September 30, and on October 2, a coworker asked his sister, Tasia Carter-Jackson, to check on him. When she went to his apartment, the front door was reportedly unlocked and his bed was not made. She said that the mattress had a big blood stain on top of it and underneath it, as well as a gunshot hole in it.
On October 1, a worker from the Department of Transportation in Eagle Township, Ohio, found Carter’s lower body and legs in a sleeping bag in the weeds next to a highway. Carter’s head was found in a black duffel bag with a bullet hole under his ear nine days later, and his upper body and hands were found in a suitcase on October 16.
Who killed David Carter?
In the Unsolved Mysteries episode “Body in Bags,” the main question is whether or not Carter’s girlfriend Tammy killed him.
In connection with Carter’s death, the US Department of Justice is looking for Williams. Fox2 says she is wanted for “mutilation, dismemberment of a dead body, tampering with evidence, and felony firearm.”
Reports say that the US Marshals are offering a $10,000 reward for information about Williams. In September 2021, police said that they think Williams’ family may have helped her get away from the law.
Andrew Battersby of the US Marshals Task Force in Detroit said in the documentary, “Someone is helping her, both financially and by giving her a roof and a place to stay. She didn’t just disappear.”
“The weapon that was used has not been found,” he said, adding that Williams is thought to be “a dangerous woman.”
He thinks that she could be “armed and dangerous” because of this.
Williams, who used to work as a travel agent and at a hospital, was arrested on October 5, 2018, after Carter’s body was found. She was later let go because there wasn’t enough evidence to keep her in jail.
ClickOnDetroit says that she left Detroit in the middle of October, and then the police started looking for her.
In September 2021, Supervisory Deputy US Marshal Aaron Garcia told Fox2: “We’re going to find you.” “We’ve been looking into this case for three years, but we haven’t gotten much help so far. People know where she is and how to get in touch with her, but they haven’t told us yet.”
Problems Start for Samia Conner and David Carter
No matter how they felt about each other, they were both committed to raising DJ as co-parents and stayed close. David didn’t go to work for a few days after that, so his family went to look for him. Samia pulled the comforter out of the bedroom to show that the apartment door wasn’t locked.
