Yomi Awoniyi Biography- Yomi Awoniyi ( 4 September 1960; Age: 63 Years old ) is a Nigerian Politician. Awoniyi was the deputy of Idris Wada, governor of Kogi State between 2011 and 2015.
He is well-known as the son of former senator Sunday Awoniyi.
Awoniyi changed allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress on 11 November 2023.

Career
He has been actively involved in politics under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, From the onset of this democratic dispensation in 1998/1999.
Awoniyi was appointed to the Management Board of the University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, and served on various committees of the Board in 2005.
Awoniyi was appointed by the Federal Government, to the pioneer Board of the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority and was Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Board in 2000.
Awoniyi held on 2 December 2006 contested for the Senate seat of Kogi West Senatorial District but lost during the PDP Primaries.
